Wilma Feeding Suggestions Ec?

I have some disturbing thoughts about using my Wilma system, firstly what sort of e.c should i be feeding my plants in all stages and sometimes i have noticed that EC will raise up really rapid in a day or 2, this is not good because sometimes i can be away for a week at a time and come back to find burnt plants, can anybody help please?
Also has anyone used Canna aqua successfully without changing pH?

How often are you feeding?... And for how long?.

My EC was 1.3 in veg when I did flood and drain.
I would flood every two and a half hours for one half hour, day and night.
I would raise my EC .1 each week and then lower it by half on the final week before flush.
I changed my reservoir solution out every two weeks.
