From the 70s - 90s MiracleGrow - MiracleGrow Bloom. Thought I hit the big time when I choose Foxfarm. In defense of MG I did add eggshell and dry manure.
Brings me back. My first indoor was '75. Sylvania GrowLux FLs. 6 banks of 4' lights, homemade tin roof reflectors. Salvaged ballasts and sockets. 10' x 14' room, blacked out and a 20" box fan for ventilation. The sun effected growing and temp. It rose in the back of the room, went directly over the roof and set in the front. Plants grew tall to short front to back. Bagseed sativa. Still haven't learned my lesson but I fed raw phosphorus attempting to increase flower and sent them into toxicity.I was buying the cheapest soil that I could find back then, and getting my amendments from a neighborhood hardware store. My first grow was in a 2x3 cedar closet in a 1920s shotgun style house. I used a cheap bathroom fart fan for the exhaust, a 400w HPS outdoor security light (heavy as fuck), and some timers and relays that I ganked from my job that I hated. I picked out the prettiest seeds from some decent bags of weed and went for it. I still remember one female in that crop that was crazy potent/giggle weed. I thought I deserved to be on the cover of High Times!
Looking back, it's amazing what can be done with very little money.
