Wire for a trellis plz

I'm looking to find some support for my plants in the wind. I was told using a trellis works well. I am trying to do this on the cheap side. I was thinking perhaps rebar posts to support it. The wire fencing has me stumped. Different guage wire and opening sizes. Is 2x3 squares big enough?

The trellis is a pain in the ass. I’ve tried several differnt ways to support my plants. You are going to want something easy to cut out.

Bamboo poles worked for me last year got them for free online people hate bamboo and just give it away works great

Man i hear ya. I've pounded rebar into the ground next to my pots and attached the whole pot to it so the damn things won't blow over and i use 4-5 6ft bamboo stakes per pot at times to attach branches. I don't think wire would be a good choice, you want something abit more forgiving to sway and not cut them in extreme windy conditions.

Hey Al, I use 4 stakes and concrete reinforcement wire. Plays grow through and wave in the wind. Mines for in ground. Stole the idea from some cat on here, works like a charm

A tip I received here last season helped me greatly. I use 10’ piece of rebar pounded about 3+feet in the ground, and slide a piece of 10 foot (2”) pvc pipe over it.

I use bamboo sticks. Like @Bigalmoby said, people hate them and can’t give them away quick enough. I’ve used tomato cages in the past too. If you have to cut them out it’s only a few wires. If you do use a tomato cage, don’t buy the collapsing ones. Get the heavy duty welded wire cages that don’t break down.

I will definitely stake them. I'm just trying to figure out how to protect the branches.

I use bamboo sticks. Like @Bigalmoby said, people hate them and can’t give them away quick enough. I’ve used tomato cages in the past too. If you have to cut them out it’s only a few wires. If you do use a tomato cage, don’t buy the collapsing ones. Get the heavy duty welded wire cages that don’t break down.

This year I'm gonna keep mine short and try and stay off the ladder.

DUDE! @Phreakshow this is a great example of what I’ve been trying to explain (and not doing a great job at it lol) you can use anything for the vertical pieces, and yeah 2x3 is fine for size. you see Natep’s trellis for his indoor, tiny : ) I say get your material that fits your budget and building style with confidents! : ) we are all here to help you get this built! we can make anything happen! you can do it brother!
