Try adding a zero and you're getting closer. Here is the top 1%: http://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/First I just wanna say to be in the top 1% you have to make $350,000 or more.
FYI this country is a Republic
Thanks for proving my point dennmark is a "constitutional monarchy" and not socialist just curious how long ago did you live in denmark?
It's also a democracy that has socialist policies... they do have a monarchy, but like Great Britain, the royal family is just a figurehead and they elect the actual leaders.
I split time between here and DK for a couple years starting maybe 4 years ago. So I've been there, Germany and a few other countries in Europe pretty recently. I love European women...
Hmmmm. One more question how much should a person be allowed to make? and who is going to decide?
This is what you don't get. If you are broke, you have no chance of becoming rich, at least not a measurable chance. Unless you are born a 1%er, you WILL NEVER BECOME A 1%er.... yet you continue to shill for the 1%, because they have you believeing that you can get there. NEWS FLASH! You can't! There are no loans, no jobs for people unless they are rich to begin with.
Who the hell needs a billion dollars? How much shit do you need? You can't take any of it with you when you die. So, is it even real? I'd rather live simply so that others may simply live. This is the stupidest, laziest and just flat out wrong statement I've heard in the last week.
My uncle was raised by very frugal parents and was one of 5 boys. He started his own company and self made himself a billionaire and many other millionaires. He was not rich to being with, but now he is part of the %0.000001.
This is what makes America unique. This type of success can actually happen here, where in other parts of the world there just aren't the opportunities to achieve this success unless you are born into it (i.e. Europe - aristocracy, India - caste system, Asia - society expects all to be the same.)

If you believe that, then you have already given up your real power. That's exactly the thinking that caused the division between the 99/1%. Money isn't real. A lot of us forget that because we have gotten so far away from the natural world. America needs a big shot of transcendentalism! As a society we need to stop chasing meaningless ambition and focus on that which is natural and real!money=power, power=control. The more money one has, the more control one has.

Yup! Every "civilized" society makes the same mistakes that lead to their demise. You would think we would learn as a species and try a new approach. But nope! Such is the arrogance of man.Doesn't anyone else see the parallels with where we are now and the decay and fall of the Roman empire? Romans took pride in being a "Roman citizen", the most powerful and prosperous empire in the world! No one is as wise and wealthy as a "Roman". We have the right to conquer the world. This arrogance eventually led to their own demise. :character0095:
Roughly 4,000 people own over 90% of the wealth in the United States, :character0095:
Sorry man, I agree with a lot of what you said, but this right here is BS. From what I have read, the top 1% owns about 40% of the wealth in the US. The top 5% owns about 70% of wealth in the US. And the top 1% is about 3 million people. This is very unbalanced, BUT, I believe your statistics are a little off.

this occupy everywhere crap is a joke. you talk to most immigrants and they see America as a land of opportunity, talk to the people born here and they are sitting on thier asses with thier hands out. everyone thinks the easy way out is to steal the rich peoples money. raising the taxes on people making 200k or more a year is not gonna fix anything so why do it? why go after what other people have? we need to control our spending then we can lower taxes.
my uncle worked in a machine shop for over 20 years running it, he made great money. in 03 it closed down. instead of going "man i cant find a job" he went back to school while he collected unemployment not even 2 years after he lost his job he found a new job in a totally differnt field. there was no way he was gonna let him self lose his house or not be able to support his family.
people think they cant start new but you can. most of the obstacles we face in life are ones we put in our own way. you just need to do something anything even mcdonalds. tons of carpenters out of work cause they think they are still worth 35 dollars an hour to work. So now they do a random odd job or 2 at that wage. At the end of the year they would have made more money working for 15 an hour steadily.
tell you what you may see me at an occupy wall street rally, ill be the guy selling waters and "Go Get'em" T-shirts, cause in America its that easy to make money.
America's Golden Age is over. The post-WWII baby boomers generation (my parents) were spoiled by the "American Dream". This was the boom of oil and economic wealth in America, which we are seeing the decay of right now. The last economic boom for that generation was the 90s, and that has all come toppling down!

So i guess your are happy with the job the current government is doing? Why do you assume that everyone who supports the occupy movement wants a handout? I just want to be able to make a living without the federal government taking me to jail. I want a federal government that LISTENS to the VOTE of the People. I can take care of myself, like everyone else. If you cant see how the corporations have taken over the government, than that is fine with me. I have no problem leading the blind. I dont care if you think its a waste of time, but dont criticize people who are willing to stand up for their rights and yours. That does kind of irritate me, and make you look ignorant. A lot of corporations pay less taxes than the average american, or no taxes. Warren Buffet pays less taxes than his maid. If you are happy with that fine. There are millionaires who support this movement. Its about a third party that is for the average blue collar citizen.
