I use oyster shell flour for my birds, too. But I no longer use it in my soils or mixes because my source water is SKY HIGH in carbonate hardness, so adding more carbonates only exacerbates the problem.

Yes, it's perfectly safe as long as you have good conditions and your plants aren't already battling something. You can also use that rate as a root drench, too, if you're worried about it. Consider adding a smaller amount to your regular feed if you're consistently seeing the same issue come up.

I am just getting off my butt to go drench my roots in Mg LOL! What timing! I usually toss in five cc's per gallon mix it and pour. I always have to turn off my lights if I go foliar or I get burns and I always forget to spray at lights out. But I've stopped using my Botanicare Cal/Mag plus with no repercussions thanks to you :)

Picked up some Epsom salt today, gonna try foliar feeding with it :)
