Possibly. Are you using the manufacturers recommendations for light intensity and height?

I try for 4". It grew and was about 2" from light when I noticed.

I have no idea. not too large, they don't produce much heat. Worked well sprouting my other 8 plants. This might be genetics. The other 2 seeds from this batch were messed up, a blind shoot and a bad pop. Usually I don't screw up until I get then outside.
