Yes another lighting thread

1. I've read the FAQs and other threads on this and other forums.
2. I have a relatively small grow space (closet) and maybe 10-20 plants.
3. I want to germinate/grow seedlings and then most likely will grow outdoors.
4. Can I use fluorescent lights only-not metal halide (MH), not high pressure sodium (HPS)?
5. If yes to no. 4, what type/wattage? Compact Fluorescent light bulbs? High Output Fluorescent bulbs?
Fixtures? Ballast?
I cannot sort this out and have been trying to do my own research on the internet (high times, etc).
Thank you. Feel free to move this post, but I need some
experts and straight answers (is that possible?)

T5s are killer for seeds, clones and veg

if your gonna start seeds to be put outside a shop light (4 ft fluorescent) or better yet t5 will be fine - just remember the sun will be a big shock to them so put them somewhere partially shaded first few days and your golden.
