if you can follow this schedule with your feed, you will rock the coco mate@oldskol4evr
Took your advice and started feeding daily. To help with smaller plants I give them a few little shakes to force a some of the excess water out. They all responded wonderfully I have roots popping at the top which I've never had happen. It also helps I increased the heat up to 82. But noticed results prior to temp increase. First pic all unhappy sick plants, 2nd pic after daily watering(and no perilite later), 3rd picture with temp increase. And on the jacks r.o. thread I took your advice and went to very simple recipe just jacks and Epsom. I had 2 plants that were seeds and testing if female. They've never got fulvic, budswell, or recharge. They did get silica for a 1 or 2 weeks. Prior to me posting that thread. Since then just jacks and Epsom. Makes sense I should.of started simple and adjust instead of just throwing stuff together I don't understand. They have purple leaf stems and some curling and I blame it being colder. They went in when other plants were week 5 and me lowering temps/humidty. No veining steams on branches or stalk. A few leaves show some cal or mag def. but its not all over so I'm ignoring but also documenting for next grow. I only put them in to determine sex. Then just ended up keeping them in there after both showed to be female. Plan is to finish the plants with simple recipe to see how it goes and make adjustments afterwards. Thanks for advice!!! Excited to see how a full grow goes with better feeding practices and no gnats. I hate those little things so much.
like it or not means ,i like to keep my root zone fresh,by feeding twice a day,i exchange air and nutes, this is also a continious flush so to speek, root bound i dont really worry about,as long as i keep giving them the juice they thrive,my last grow in 3 gal pots, feed twice a day and with a ton of training got 3 1/2 ft tall ,maxing out my 2x4x5ft tall tent,i had 4 plants in there and there was no room to spare, they were so bushy they filled in all empty spots,if you just glanced at the tent you would think i had a scrog net but didnt, that exchange is key mate,no doubt.I use hydroguard, but my bottle is on last quarterish so it could be old/need replacing, have had it atleast a year
I like how you put that "whether they like it or not" thats exactly what I did. In the beginning of my coco days I got paranoid when I tried watering more and they got all sad looking so I stopped. I see that was a huge mistake. This go around they wilted but only for a 2 or 3 days, I ignored and kept feeding. Once they got used to it day by day started to look better. I would be in bigger pots but space is my enemy. Got to stay small until the switch to bigger room. With how their roots are growing now, I will have to figure something out in future or ill have root bound pots. Not been an issue before but their roots are exploding!! Was just looking at them more closely, They always looked sad compared to my rdwc days. Now they are all thick and fuzzy again. And going everywhere. Ugh *slaps forehead*, you should of kept feeding daily. Pry would of fixed so many issues Ive had with coco haha.
thats just it ,with a true living soil, not a super soil mix like what most think is there savior,a true living soil alive with the soil food web in place doesnt need much water unless you live in extreme heats.Hopefully over the next 2 runs I can dial it in like that and have a documented routine. I miss the one I had with rdwc. After I get coco down, soil is my next goal. I'll be posting more, what the hell did i do wrong threads when that time comes. I want to visually see the results of each medium commonly used to determine my favorite. With soil I will try organic to see how marijuanna grows with no salt fertilizers. Hopefully this next spring. Give me time to thread surf. Not sure why but organic soil just comes off as really hard. Teas, super soil, amending, precise watering. Ill probally start with 2 or 3 plants.
if smell is a issue for you look at bokashi,it is used for drains ,litter boxs and composting,it is great stuff, you can put a 5 gal bucket in your kitchen and fill it with your daily scraps put a spoon of bokashi on top it when you add and no smell,it will compost your stuff and leave a liquid ,that liquid is the best tea you can use for any plant.I have a buddy who is an organic outdoor Gardner, doesn't grow buds though. He enjoys my smoke but has been adamant I do an organic soil run and has offered will supply me compost or living soil. Like you he has a specific area and throws old plant waste, and what ever else is deemed organic/safe in his eyes. I know nothing about it. My biggest issue is smell, I have air scrubbers but living soil definitely smells "living". I only grow indoors.
