Dude, 4 weeks in and you aren't doing some LST? :-) I would mess around with at least one of the plants and try training on it. Those guys are going to get big if you're at 4 weeks :-)

If they aren't autos, then look into FIMMING and TOPPING and try them out as well. Its fun to mess around with the plants as you learn!

So I have tried lst twice now. I tieed the branches down and im nit sure why but two days later they were right back up where they were 😆. Think I need to work on my technique lol. I have topped only once but have considered fimming. Thanks for your input!

The whole idea of LST is to fan out those branches. You will have to constantly manage the LST but once you have them trained, it makes life so much easier for light distribution and leaf management.

You should always start LST after node 4 or 5, so you get em young and they start to hold shape after a while.

Your doing good man! Keep up the good work.

Thank you! I appreciate all the info. Been learning along the way and sights like this have a been a great resource for me. Cant wait to incorporate all this new info into my next grow. Im planning on flipping them soon so last night I did some trimming. Going to give them a few more days in veg before I do a reservoir change and flip the light cycle but as of today they seemed rather happy!

So ended up not using a scrog because access to my reservoirs would be next to impossible. That being said I just hot week 3 of bloom. Plants seem really happy and the bud has started stacking fast the last 5 days or so. Getting very excited! First pic was from February 17th and the rest are from today

Thank you! I'm having a bit of trouble with this exact thing here and there. Next grow will be recirculating so I don't have to deal with maintaining 4 reservoirs and all the ph/ec issues. Much appreciated!

What system you planning on building? I got a video here of my fallponics system if you like engineering porn.
Is that basically a trickle filter recirculating system???? If so I am in love 😍. I wanted to do that for years and never got around to it.

You can call it whatever you want. Pretty sure they (my 4 tents running this system) are one of a kind.

From now on, we will call this the TiFRS*

Love it.. not what I had in mind but those biomedia are gonna be sweet... I do have a method of testing denitrifying bacteria once you get going but will need a test for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate from the pet store... you can actually watch them colonize.

You mean these?

Yeah, nothing yet. But the plants have only been in there a day now since system sterilization.

Better watch it man, you're working on becoming my next idol lol from your setup to your preparedness, this ain't your first rodeo.

Did you notice the UVA and Far Red? We're doing some testing in this tent. There's a thread asking if you should add UVB, so we are answering that question in another tent. I've got video of all that in other threads if you want to jump in.
