Hi guy's,
after just posting on the intro thread I thought I'd make a post on here as I am an amateur micro grower and wondered if you could make any recommendations or improvements I can make.
So I have had a number of previous grows with some good success however a common issue I tend to have is lack of density in the bud. Could this be a nutrient issue?
My setup is a tent 1m squared, 135w quantum LED 3000 light, extractor fan along with clip on oscillating fans. My medium is always a compost.
I actually have a seed waiting to pop right now so will be posting pictures in the coming days.
Yes for sure more details. LolPictures please
What size environment are you in? Give us more details! I love micro grows. The last one I did was in a 18" x 18" x 36" panda tent I made. It did well! Check it out here:
Home made micro tent.
So I made this tent a while back. Its 1.5x1.5x3. I've decided to see what i can get out of it. So I e started to scrog a clone. The frame is made from cheap 1x2 and panda film. Using 2 5v computer blower fans running on a USB outlet to exhaust. The light fixture is a 7 to 1 bulb splitter. That...www.thcfarmer.com
I would mix the compost with something like coco or peat to make a super soil. And if your going organic buy some either organic dry ammendments or organic liquid bottled for later on. Unless trying to go the compost tea route the entire time. Or you could mix in the compost with another medium and then use the compost as a top dress later to replenish the microbial life.
Oh, I see you said 1m. That's actually pretty decent size. Your led is way underpowered
You want 35w per sq foot.
3.6x3.6 = 12.96 x 35 = 453.6 watts
You need a 4 panel quantum board setup or an equivalent bar type system.
In that case, the light is perfect.Ok. So after thinking about my setup I put myself in doubt and measured the tent. I don't know why I thought it was 1m squared because its not lol. It is infact 60cm squared (2 feet squared) x 1.5M in height.

Most of the organics are good. LolAlthough I have organic liquid feed I am very interested in other organic options if you could recommend any.
Most of the organics are good. Lol
Gaia green, dr earth, Mother Earth are all good organic drys. If your confidant in your composting ability’s and have worms in your compost bed then I would use that. Lol
But if not those days are good and Botanicare is a good organic bottled nute.
Nice.Well I’m doing autos now and used Gaia green and put it in the soil before I planted. Only because it’s slow release so what way it won’t kick in till about a week or two. That question depends on a lot of factors. Lol
Yeah you got to get the top dressing and watering down to a tee. Usually day 30 is when I top dress but I add nothing else and I’ve been doing it this way for two years. LolNice.
I'm growing Moby dick XXL, new to the strain so I'm interested in the results
Probably week two. But start at a quarter of what they are saying to use. Even an 1/8 is fine as well.At what point would you recommend adding nutes to an auto grow?
I don't think I have the space.
I had this discussion with somebody before buying the light and thought the same to be honest however many people said that due to it being a quantum board it would be adequate for the scale of my grow.
I had used other lights previously including a mars 300w and the 135w seems to begiving better results.
