Hi guys. Looking for your opinions IYDM.Here's some from my summer/outdoor harvest. Still iin the jars after 4 months. Even though the cure is technically over, I just opened one up after not opening for a month and immediately it smells even better, sweeter......
Hey, good morning......all good questions. So yes, I like harvesting in stages. I don't think the "allowing the light to hit the lower buds" thing is AS much of a thing as simply allowing a little more time for them to develop, allowing the ripening process to finish, but maybe others can comment on this too. Of course, you have to weigh this extra ripening time with time needed to start the next grow, but there are ways around that too, like tome layering......heat/light stress shouldn't be an issue, provided you're not lowering the light right at them.....use your common sense with that and you'll be fine.
Hi guys. Looking for your opinions IYDM.
@GNick55 I’m thinking about combining @BigBlonde & your @Harpua88 methods of jaring the buds on the stem with only harvesting the tops at first.
Then letting the lower buds get 100% light and grow without worrying about heat/light stress for maybe a week+ longer?
Just trying to get the most out of a string of bad turns. You think this will work and give good or better results than a regular cut and flip harvest?
GN - Just want your $.02
BB - Don’t think you tried it yet but have read more than I on it.
H88 - I have a few 10” jars and more a little smaller to try this. Do you just cut and put in the jar or leave the branch out a while first?
I have the Boveda RH pads and a hanging drying rack. Round one with zippers.
Trying to get a plan ready before to much amber shows up. Or the clones get me busy.
TIA

I've done 2 harvests per grow too from the same plants. It depends on your methods, and other factors, it may or not make sense for everyone, but I would harvest, leaving a decent amount of leaves still on, switch to veg, and run them again. I would them get a 2nd harvest frim the same plants......bushier, but comparable yield with far less work.
Excellent!I harvest in stages.the lower buds get super dank after the tops are gone.
Thanks.Looking great! "Bit off more than you can smoke" yup. Same here. Grew so fast I was scrambling to keep up. I like the idea of incremental harvesting I think I'll do that as well.
You totally could do that, and yes they make green night lightsA few flower pics.

Flower Day 56 Week 8:
Trying to keep temp and RH in low 20’s & 40’s. But it can creep to 27*c & 55%.
Watching the amber and clear. Ready to harvest the tops as they get ripe. Not going to see the runny dripping sap/sweat I got from her sister seed. BBQ probably didn’t help.
Debating if I should use the basement bathroom shower as a temporary dry/cure spot. Use the hanging dry net for the tops first. It’s got the fan, dark, humidity if needed.
Wonder if they make a green night light?
I think it’s the current plan. I even have an old green night light that doesn’t use bulbs. More like a blank green LCD screen. You totally could do that, and yes they make green night lightsmy kids have them, theyre like a mint green
Excellent!
I'm gona try to dry in a wine fridge this harvest. My wife was not impressed with me stinking up the whole house last time.lol.I think it’s the current plan. I even have an old green night light that doesn’t use bulbs. More like a blank green LCD screen.
Now that it’s legal I don’t worry about the smell unless we have company.I'm gona try to dry in a wine fridge this harvest. My wife was not impressed with me stinking up the whole house last time.lol.
Cool. I’ll look that up. No plans just want to know.I have dryed in a fridge before should go good.i think it's called a lotus cure.
Skunk is always going to smell strong. Never grown it but never forget the smell either.ya did some gorilla glue and fuaxcedo outdoor last year stinky stinky.didnt even hang it in the house just stunk up the place triming it.put a recliner in my barn so I will trim out there this time.almost got my weed growing privilages revoked.lol
Very cool. Once the cure is done put the jars in with some green LEDs. Show off you aged jars like a true conasur.Fridge gets here Sunday will shoot you a picture when I get it modified.
never did a selective harvest before, might try it one of these times to really ripen those lower budsView attachment 1341730View attachment 1341731View attachment 1341732View attachment 1341733
