Same limitations. It will work fine to rotate soil pots. Not so good for rdwc.

Moving the plant is always going to be more hassle than moving the light. Beyond that, what is the movement trying to accomplish, and is there a better way to accomplish that goal than moving plants- or for that matter, the light(s) too?

The one I was referring to is hydro recirculating ....containers and gear they are on have holes that let the water drain back into res that gears are on any whoo jus shooting the shit peace!

That I haven't seen. I wonder if the guy selling it is making any money. If he can make a buck selling a contraption li ke that, there's hope for me yet!

Well I've only seen it once and no one had ordered it or mentioned anything of it in the last five years three of which I worked at a hydro shop and attending all those grow expos etc....

Most new businesses fail. Usually it's due to not running it well, rather than inherent problems with product.

It was a self-serving post of mine (the video of the motorized Lazy-Susan). Thanks to an airplane crash, I'm looking toward my 4th Lumbo-Sacral vertebral surgery and I'm only 50 yrs old. Anything I can do to minimize the manual movement of 20gal containers of dirt in my indoor garden, I will do. I hail from a region where state law currently limits the grower's number of plants (motivating growers to maximize yield from each plant). I should say, I would examine anything reasonable to help me move stuff. Committee based state rules & regs can always change.

I liked the lazy Susan. I am not sure we've found the right application for it yet, that's all!

Moving water is much easier. Use hose n pumps, no heavy lifting... well, there is the small matter of the yield- but somehow I think you'll manage!

So if I understand you correctly, I should NOT place my bulbs in the corners of the room? My plan was to leave the bulbs in their reflectors but take the glass out. Then, place the reflectors in each corner of the room at about 5' in height, or 4' above their bucket, and angle them about 45 degrees towards the middle of the room. The idea was to utilize the reflector to push more light, use the height to keep it from creating a hot spot and still generate big lumens on the leaves as the plant grows. The girls going in are already 30" tall!

If that's the case, there is a lot of dark space around half the circumference of each plant, or does proximity between plants and verts make up for that?

Every other bulb could be 6 or so inches higher than the others. Would love to see someone do this! I will eventually. Here is an old picture I drew up last year. It states 3 lbs on it but now I'm hitting that with only 4 lights per plant. With 6 lights per plant you could break 5 maybe 6 pounds. You would also want and need a horizontal light on top.

This looked great at first blush, but how do you get in there to work with plants in the middle? How can you be sure the temperature and RH (nevermind how you get fresh air and CO² into the middle!) will be the same in the middle of that mega watt jungle as it is near the edges?

The lights and the plants have the same distance between centers. think checkerboard. Lights on center red and plants on center black. I think you put the holes in the wrong place in the lids, or you may need to move things around a bit to get your spacing right.

Each plant should be getting hit by 3 sides of light the dark side will be the side facing the corner of the room.

Thank the idiot who broke my chiller last month. I can't run this room with sealed hoods, let alone with 5kW of bare bulbs with the rest of my op in full swing. The chiller is finally on its way to a complete repair but it will be some weeks yet.

Since I run a multi zone setup and stagger things on a specific schedule, you can imagine how this is jacking up my op! Soooo, I'm going to skip a stage in order to give my chiller some hope of keeping up for the rest of the summer, and put plants in those tubs... in 4 days. That will give me 16 days to convert my next stage and be ready, and the next, and the next...

I like it. At the moment I'm working in smaller but consistent spaces of 8' x 8' square, under 4kW of sealed and vented each. This is being changed over to 5kW bare bulb vertical and the RDWC is also being modified from many 5 gallon sites to just four 27 gallon tubs.

I'm still waiting out the end result of a long drawn out fight over a warranty repair. So far, it looks like I'll get a new unit- but it might be awhile getting here. WHILE WE'RE YOUNG, ELECTROLUX!!!

When I have both chillers in place and running, I should have plenty of cooling power to run 10 kW on each side of a flip schedule, for a total of 20kW of bare bulbs in bloom, plus dehuey and RDWC water cooling- all with just 4 tons.

Watch me.
