testing and experience both have tuaght me that there a a couple ways to get nature to give us more females

for the first 2-4 weeks from seed

- make sure the soil stays consistently moist
- use low N in your nutes and lower ppm over-all (more p-k)
- keep temps around 70 F
- keep humidity above 75%

more males

- dryer to bone dry wet dry soil cycles
- high heat (stress)
- hi N in nutes and high ppm (stress)
- dry and hot temp and air

essentially stressful environments prove to make more males.

less stress and comfortable/optimal conditions make for more fems

enjoy!

Ive been thinking about this alot lately i actually popped 16 beans and got 15 females my last pop couldnt believe it. I was thinking maybe its the new nutes? Who knows but i cant complain i guess altho i was actually hopeing to get a few choice males to choose from! I bet if i was wanting all females i would popped all males cuz thats just the way it goes for my luck lol.
Anyhow Merry Xmas MedMan cant wait to get and pop those WCSD i would be happy as hell with a couple real stanky Gassy males outta that bunch fosho!
Peace

Based on what I did last year, I can tell you that using an interrupted photoperiod alone can cause a high percentage of males resulting in stock from a breeder that's not known for such issues.

Can you give example Mrs. Sea? I run GLR for lighting and have hi% of females. Just curious bout what you said..Thanks in advance.

The photoperiod I used had a main daylight portion of something like 13.5hrs, and I used two 2hr interruptions during the dark phase. Works great with clones to keep them vegging through the summer instead of flipping the moment you put them out. Works terrible for seeds.

After experimenting with different light cycles and higher n lower n - I still gotta say that a seed is genetically male or female from the start , I do think you can stress a female to herm but i think its all luck of the draw as I wanted more males this time and did all the male suggestions - higher temps , lights 24 hr veg , and got 80% females granted I have not popped as many beans as @med man but i have popped a good bit ...think i'll actually germ something now and try for males again

For male growers if you wear Pollo, more females Old spice more males. Female growers Channel #5 more males and Chloe more females.
