I've been going through the same thing..... look close and you can see the nanners. I moved it outside where it can't do any harm and will let it keep going to see what happens. It still looks so good and is frosting up even with the nanners.

I love black labs...had a blonde lab ..what a sweetheart her name was hashbrown...lived to 12 ...spleen cancer... best dog ever labs exspecially for kids.. munch mouth but i think thats all dogs. Yes and Sea and myself agree on the SUPER SMART AND SEXY;)

Hi Sea, I wanted to ask about what might cause leaves to take on a purple sheen. On a different plant, I have some leaves yellowing and showing a redness over the yellow. No reds stalks but some red stems. Phosphorous transport problem? I had this problem with one plant last run. It seemed to stall out late in flowers and produced dry, low potency buds.

Are they late in flower? Would you describe the appearance as 'autumnal'? If so, that's what I would ascribe it to before anything else without seeing it. When you say red stems, are you referring to the petioles (what attaches the leaf to the branch)?

Cold is one reason, genetics is another, stage of flowering, and indeed, a nutrient issue can all be reasons for what you're observing.

I don't think it is the good purple from cold. I wish. But, this happens late flower. I suppose it could be described as autumnal but I have seen this before and it might be the beginning of something bad . Yes, the petioles turn red-purple later in flower. I'll put up a photo later.

If the reds and purples are not showing up until late flower you are fine. Towards the end of the plants life cycle it no longer needs to produce chlorophyll. When the chlorophyll is no longer produced other pigments in the plants begin to show through, the purples and reds you are seeing. This is the autumnal effect Sea had stated it was. So, I would agree with her and say you are fine. In fact for me the change of colors is a good thing; excess chlorophyll in the finished product is one of the main reasons for a harsh smoke.

Yes, I'm with SG on this. I've seen some spectacular coloring in some lines and it's simply due to them reaching the end of their life.

SG and SM thanks for getting back to me. I might have mislead you a little. I am actually more mid flower not late flower. This photo is about 42 days from 12/12 flip. Hopefully the photo is clear enough to see the coloring in both leaves. Look at the one on the left and you can see necrosis spots starting to form. This pattern is starting on some other leaves at the middle and top. I might have created this problem from too much cal-mag. I spaced out and was using 1 tblsp a gal instead of 1 tspn a gal. Plus, I was adding this almost every watering. Did too much cal lock out the mag or vice versa? I have backed on on cal-mag for now. Any advice will be appreciated.

That absolutely looks like an autumnal effect, to me. I see the spots you are seeing, but I don't see anything to worry about. The fact that the change in color is happening evenly across multiple leaves would imply that it is not a deficiency but a natural change in color. The only thing other than the age of the plant that may be causing that is the temperature of your grow space. If the nights are too cold the purple will also show through. Ultimately I don't think you have anything to worry about with your plants. Keep off the CalMag for now and enjoy the finishing of your girls.

Thanks SG, it does get cold when lights go out and the girls do look good otherwise. That would be quite spectacular to see her turn purple.

I almost exclusively grow plants that have a 'pretty' autumnal effect. I like growing flowers that are pretty.

She's a good looking girl. I get compliments whenever we go out. Most loving and affectionate dog I have ever had. Labradors are great dogs. Maybe the best overall :) Loyal, kind, affectionate, athletic, smart, will work for you.... what else could you ask for?
