Yes you do:
the secondary stems that start forming from the nodes as the plant grows.

Like I said above: if the secondaries show the tri leaf trait you've got the Holy Grail of pruning:

"normal" prunings ------------------------------------------2 > 4 > 8 > 16 > ...
tri leaf prunings (w/ tri leaf secondaries) ----------------3 > 9 > 27 > 81 > ...
but even it the secondaries are normal pairs it's --------3 > 6 > 12 > 24 >...

Big difference later on...

But I dont know what secondaries are

Went out and snagged some shots of a volunteer 'bout that size (normal paired leaves):

1A

Secondary stems emerging from the single leaflet node axils on the Primary Stem (mainstem)--
and at the first Trifoliate Leaf pair...

Man that background is sic... I love this time of yr when everything is nice & green ... do any of them trees fall down during storms? Thats some good firewood. .
Limbs fall off those oak trees all the time. but we havent had any fall over
I had to cut a few down when we built the house..It does make great fire wood!
We had a Major Hail storm last night!
