No smell cause air handler inside room just recirculates air within the room. Mini split is 2 separate pieces. One for indoor and one for outdoor connecting by wiring and copper piping. Either unit is good. Mr Slim is a bit better. But LG is more energy efficient.
Thanks john when you say slim is a bit better can you please elaborate on that? Will the LG. Also what are the accessories do I need to order with the mini split sorry again for so many questions thanks once again

Electronics are a bit better. With that said I have a LG unit. You need line set. Rest of items (wire, etc) should be able to be gotten at Home Depot

Thanks so just purchase the unit and the line set and other acc at Home Depot? So I'm going with the LG just so I can lower my electric bill a bit more

Yes just get line set and unit from wholesaler. Rest of install items should be able to be gotten from the Depot.

Hey cannabis john how much do you think in kilowatts will the LG or Mitusbishi draw in 1 months time at temps of 95° in the summer with the inverter cause in a grow room the fan must be running 24/7 thanks

Hey John, Im looking to purchase this 2 year old Mr. Slim (only $900) but needs a line set... my question is on the website it states

"This Mitsubishi's Super High-SEER mini-split AC will provide you with 1.25 ton of cooling for hot summer and it comes with MSYD30NA wall mounted 30,000 BTU unit"

If this unit is rated at 30,000 btus shouldn't that say "provide you with 2.5 tons of cooling"

Thanks

Sounds a little fishy. Get model numbers from both indoor and outdoor unit from seller before you buy

Question for you guys especially CJ. I am building a 10x12 by 8 foot tall room. I will divide it in to 2 rooms. The grow room will have 2 for now and later I might add a third air cooled 600 watt lights, that room will be 5 foot wide by 8 foot long. The rest will be for mothers and clones and storage and veging. I live in AZ, so, 120+ in the summer. This room is being built inside the garage, so actually 2 questions, I will be installing a mini split unit and the head unit will be inside the grow room. What size unit should I get and how do I circulate the air from the grow room to the rest of the unit? One more question, can I get any real cooling of my lights if I am drawing 120 degree air from my garage? I can draw the air from my house but my house a/c isn't the most efficient so I really don't want to add to its load, I could draw air from the clone room and dump it back into it as I want to run co2 in the future so the whole unit will be sealed. I don't think the air from outside is going to do any real cooling. What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Jack

If you are going to seal it and run CO2 get a dual zone mini split so each room has its own cooling. How much lighting in other room before I can size it properly? Light bulbs are hotter than 120F but doubt it will help much.

Here is the listing:
And what I posted above was from an internet retailer.

Here is the model numbers...
Indoor Unit: MSY-D30NA
Outdoor Unit: MUY-D30NA

Green, those numbers are for a 30,000 btu unit not a 15,000 btu,my kid has that same unit in his spot.

Thats a really good deal provided everything is ok with the units!

Sweet FW, I'm pumped to get my room sealed up... How loud is the outdoor unit? 55Db is suppose to be equivalent to a standard conversation. How many lights/equipment does he run?

Due to the cost I am kinda stuck with a single head unit. As for the other room I am still working on my lighting configuration. Due to it being clones and mothers I am leaning towards florescent lighting of some sort, maybe a small HID for vegging just till their big enough to go in the main grow room. The CO2 doesn't have to be confined to the grow room only, it won't hurt the clones or mothers plus the total for all of my space is only going to be around 120 square feet. With the way I am setup I may just forgo the CO2 and just worry about keeping everything cool till I can afford a dual zone unit. If I was going to skip CO2 for now and just want to have good circulation while still being light tight do you think a inline fan with a light proof duct on it would work? I am thinking I could mount the fan towards the top of the wall exhausting into my clone room with a duct on the intake side that would draw cool air from the bottom of the room with the head unit? What do you think? I am leaning towards a 9000BTU unit unless you think that isn't big enough. Everything I have read says that size unit should handle between 300 and 400 square feet. I know I am putting a lot more heat into the room than a normal house would but that is why I am asking your opinions.

Thanks,
Jack

I size a/c units for lighting not room size. So based upon 1.8kw lights (including later add on light), I would recommend 4000btus per hr per kw which equals 7200 btus per hour so 9k will be fine. Inline fan with light proof tube should work. Put it on a thermostat.

2.5 tons will do at least 5kw of unvented lighting. Outside unit is super quiet. Hard to tell it's running most of the time.

Thanks much CJ very much appreciated.

Green, super quiet like john says,he is running 6k in lights with his and he seems to be ok,thats a damn good deal if everything checks out on that unit.
