Based on all my research and based on what I am dealing with medically speaking, one thing I'm eager to try is cannabis oil with high CBD and zero TSH. I can't find it anywhere. I live in Los Angeles. I've called and emailed countless dispensaries and nobody has it.

How can I find it? Where do I go? Who do I talk to? I have two autoimmune diseases too many and I believe in CBD's healing properties.

Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Katie

Welcome to the farm! As far as where to find it not really sure. CBD is in high demand atm..

Thanks for having me and thanks for taking the time to respond.

CBD is amazing from everything I've read and researched. I can't find it without TSH. Everyone says they have a 25:1 ratio, but from what I've read, zero TSH and high CBD is where the healing lies for my conditions.

I'm so frustrated. Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks, Dabbie!

Have a great weekend.

I think you mean THC hun ;) Unless you really do mean TSH?

hello,

welcome to the farm

thats really not going to happen mam,

even "pure CBD" products to my knowledge, like DIXIE even have SOME THC in them

just little enough to be able to be sold openly in the US

heres a link to dixie.. but depending on the quality of oil and price you have available there locally at dispensaries i would probably just buy some local..

25 to 1 is a great ratio

Hi Katie, it's THC, and frankly I think you're going to shortchange yourself if you focus on only one of the whole suite of cannabinoids (of which around 80 have been documented). That doesn't even begin to address the problem you're having--finding the product in the first place.

What I suggest is finding out if any of those dispensaries are selling EITHER high-CBD meds (my first choice for you here), or high-CBD clones or seed stock. If they have the meds, great news is you can now make your own oil. Bad news is it'll be expensive, because I think the standard is roughly 1/4lb to make 20cc's of oil. I dilute that 20cc's quite a bit, and I use coconut oil and local honey to make the dilution, and then titrate that for my husband, and then make pills using gelatin capsules (because the flavor is fairly rank, I'm not gentle or exceedingly particular when I'm making the oil).

You could get 2oz and make at least a couple of weeks' worth of oil for yourself, using the Rick Simpson method in a rice cooker and Everclear or whatever solvent you choose to use (Rick Simpson insists it must be naptha to get the very best oil).

If you can't get a hold of flowers, then you're in the position of having to grow for yourself and you'll be 3-5mos away from medicine, give or take.

If you don't mind, I'm going to change your thread title so that tincture is properly spelled (for search purposes).

Shamus,

Thanks for your response, too, I appreciate it.

Out of curiosity, why isn't pure CBD going to happen? Studies are showing that pure CBD for certain medical conditions might be tremendously beneficial.

I'm checking Dixie now. Locally, I've contacted over 30 dispensaries and nobody has CBD or even a CBD/THC 25 to 1 ratio.

Do you think - your personal opinion - that CBD with a 25-1 ratio is or can be as effective as pure CBD? Do you know - stupid question - Can the 1 ratio make you feel high? THC won't help me, if that makes sense.

Thanks
Katie

Hi Seamaiden--

This is excellent information, thank you. The research speaks to what you wrote in the first paragraph. Why can I only find studies on CBD? Do you think the THC, even some of it is a good thing? I am looking to treat the root cause of two things versus the symptoms.

Is making it difficult?

I love your input and feedback. I will check out Rick Simpson.

Thanks,
Katie

Right now the only way your going to get pure CBD and no THC is to extract a Hemp plant.. and the only state in the usa atm even growing hemp is the university of kentucky.. CBD is still just a baby as far as medicine is concerned, Its gonna be awhile till the demands high enough people start growing more cbd rich strains but those still contain thc..

HEMP is the only source for 0 THC 100% CBD medicine, and it can be sourced online but its not cheap nor is it really worth the 100mg or so you get for your 100$..

Source clones seeds whatever you can of known CBD rich strains that are also LOW in thc... none are going be THC free..Thats where the money is for most growers.

I think this site will help you: http://scholar.google.com/

There, use your search terms a bit more broadly. You may encounter studies from Israel (they're on the forefront of research I think) but Google does a decent job of translating. Also Spain and Italy have done some really good unbiased studies.

Making the oil isn't difficult, just a bit messy and time-consuming. Once it's oil, it's a bit tricky to deal with as it's VERY sticky and very, very thick, which is how I ended up doing the gelatin pills. I think I mentioned I use Everclear and I plan on getting a home distilling machine to recover that alcohol, it ain't cheap!

If you wouldn't mind posting links to the studies you've read, maybe the community at large can help a little with finding more.

Here's what I got putting "thc and cbd disease" into Google Scholar.

Hi Seamaiden,

Thanks for the additional info. My research is on another laptop and I will post all of it. You make a great point about sharing it. Perhaps Team TCH Farmer will have more info about it or additional info. For example, I did not know that Israel, Spain and Italy were doing research. The research I found was all done in the United States.

Making it is very expensive. Is alcohol better than oil (coconut or olive)? Or is it better to do both?

A million thank you's for taking the time.,

Thanks, Little Dabbie!

Everything you just wrote is so far over my head, but it's great! It's just more information to do more research. In the US, as I understand it, and this concerns me, big pharma is trying to compound CBD and sell it. My concern with that is once big pharma takes over, I won't be able to legally procure CBD.

Thanks so much for everything
Katie

*jumps in and beats seamaiden* :P

Alcohol is the solvent that extracts the thc..

Coconut oil is the carrier of thc to your body to absorb.

And rightfully so you should be concerned about that. Thats why I and everyone else can only really suggest you get your hands on your own plants that way big pharm cant take your meds away.

Ah, I wish I could answer the "which is better" question well for you. All I can say is that the alcohol is a derivation of the Phoenix Tears Oil (aka Rick Simpson "Run For The Cure" cancer oil) because I just don't feel comfortable using naptha as the solvent. Mostly because I am REALLY accident prone, being burned is one of my few phobias and in fact I'm too good at starting accidental fires. Also, this is what was advised to me by one of the other moderators here, true grit, who's got a WORLD more experience than I do.

Okay... I have a lot of learning to do, but it's so worth it because I truly believe that CBD will change my health trajectory exponentially.

IMHO Naptha should NEVER Have been suggested as a solvent.. It is one of the dirtiest hardest to purge solvents ive ever worked with..

Alcohol.. Acetone.. For Full Plant extracts Boil off FAR below the boiling point of water NAPTHA does not boil off till WELL ABOVE the boiling point of water. Gross.

Butane for selective extracts.

Butter if you really wanna taste your weed i guess..

Little D- Which one is best, oil or alcohol?

Alcohol is the extraction solvent you use to extract your medicine into a concentrated form. The coconut oil is mixed with the concentrate so your body can absorb the medicine without it the enzymes in your stomach would attack and destroy the thc before it could become absorbed into your body and processed.

Both work as solvents. This is because of the compounds we're discussing being soluble only in something like alcohol (or butane, hexane, naptha) or fats/oils/lipids and not water. I can't say much beyond that, it's above my pay grade.

You should write to Rick Simpson. It's not just a suggestion for them, they insist it's the best solvent. And that you must use the best buds. I disagree, I think trim can be used and other, safer solvents may still gain a good result, but then I'm not trying to cure cancer.

Oh yeah, I learned from @Blaze that coconut oil, because it's so high in monounsaturated fats, makes one of the best carriers of these volatile compounds. (Oh shit! Are they volatiles? They're volatile when I put flame to 'em!)
