I had russet mites before, don't think its that. Im almost positive this a root rot, fungal, systemic disease, but not a hundred %, cause I haven't gotten any lab tests done. And, I almost positive I got it from a bad outbreak of fungus gnats, which I now have under control, for the most part. Or was brought in from some clones I get and I guess didn't quarantine long enough, and treat well enough.

I thought fusarium and Pythium went away with a product like zone. I thought I had a root disease or something for a while only to find out my ph run off was way low from the coco drying out. I was watering with zone and the plants were just super sick I was getting the burnt roots yellowing leaves etc.

Gnatrol is what has work the best for my fungus gnat out break as well! I have to second that with Billy boat!

I would contact WSU extension in mt Vernon they are part of the NPDN western division if your in WA. OSU if ORE.. To send a sample in far to risky to not know for a fact.

My fear is I may have to scrap all my mother plants if their diseased with pythium, or fusarium, then restock my whole grow, which will cost time and countless $$$$$$$. I have the seed bank to do so, but don't really want to shut down. I got 90lb off 56 lights last harv, but this one will be less for sure. Anyone with experience in pythium/fusarium and curing it will be greatly appreciated.
Started thread with a few gnats, and now this?
It's like noticing that your lighter is getting too hot when in fact the house is on fire.

I feel for you.
Give the farm more to work with and you will get help.
I've seem it work.

Ive been treating this root browning, stunted plant issue at the roots, using beneficials, orca, hydroguard, superthrive, and quite possible that may be the reason I an having some success. I haven't went the dutch master zone route yet, but will maybe try it. I just purchased some root shield, and a chemical (ridomil) I think, but want to stay away from chemicals if I can. I really just want to get back to explosive hydroponic growth, with big healthy whit roots. Im veggin under T5 style fluorescent lights. Using synthetic super natural brand nutes, with the above listed additives, weekly Einstein treatments, and recently began burning light sulphur treatments. This problem is getting to my clones when they root, which makes me think its systemic from my moms, or in the air. Im truly stumped, the good thing is even though plants are quite smaller, the quality is still there.

this is a very large grow.....your spending/losing thousands of dollars treating what exactly? Go get lab test done so you can treat the problem correctly. or scrap everything and buy bleach. seriously.

Your absolutely right jimmy, tests are getting done tomorrow. I will update in a couple of days. I really wish someone on this site has dealt with any kind of root rot/pythium/fusarium on a big scale and had some knowledge to share.

Saying root rot fusarium Pythium is like saying I have bugs. Or can you Id this plant it has green leaves. There is tons of water borne pathogens that it could be. Any advice you would recieve will be suspect at best without an accurate diagnosis. The first step should always be an accurate ID. I lost one of my favorite plants by not identifying a fungal problem properly and still regret my foolishness. So best of luck to you

I'm pretty sure we've got some cats who have done just that. If searching directly on the site hasn't netted you any results, go through Google and add "@thcfarmer.com"

Sounds like u got hit with the dud issues.. I would read up in the thread linked above, there should be some insight to battling ur issue there .. I'm sure starting over will be costly but as of now it seems like ur messing with band aids and ur still bleeding..
Theres a few real good recommendations on there that u can easily implement ...

Ive dealt with "duds" many times, and they look just like the pic listed. I just toss and move on. This is not a "dud" issue. With duds the tell tale sign in small overlapping leaves, and wide branch growth, and smaller leaves too. DO NOT flower, will be a waste of time.

Also, I forgot to mention, the branches of the "duds" will snap very easily, you sometimes can just pull a branch apart, which you normally cannot do on a healthy plant branch.

So, I got the results back from my lab today, positive for fungus. OK, lab guy, is that all my 60$ got me. I asked him if he could be more specific, waiting on more info.

I have heard dipping clone cuttings in a very weak physan 20 solution, then in rooting solution could help, also adding some more sugars into my nute res for beneficials to feed on would help keep populations up as well.

I have a test tray now with about 10 plants on it, I am running a few tests of different things, and quantities. I will test, watering in eagle 20 straight to the roots, and dutch master zone drench. I have a couple other tests in mind and will post when I confirm products and amounts. For now Im running rootshield, orca, hydroguard. Also, starting to add silica to res's as well. considering cyco, dutch, aptus, any ideas??? Ive used aptus before with good results but its fucking expensive.

Plus I just started running hydroguard/rootshield in my clone solution, think its helping.

Don't forget to update us on the RootShield, I have some clones rooting now I want to get RootShield on them as quickly as possible hopefully I can shut this root rot down unfortunately Rootshield is only available here by the pound , expensive. I'm hoping I can cut clones and establish roots with Rootshield protection before the root rot can contaminate them but is root rot systemic ? can you cut rot free clones or is the infection through out the plant ?

Im pretty sure its systemic. Clones still roots ok, but then roots come out with burnt tips, and brown. I put hydroguard in the clonex solution that I soaked my clone cubes in, and it definitely helped. Now I have also added rootshield to clonex solution, and added rootshield to first nutrient fill on fresh 6in hugos. Plus, Im thinking off setting hugo blocks on cocoa slabs, as to not confine the root mass in a small area, try to get them to spread out a little, idk, maybe it will help. Im still pretty early in, so ill post results.

I don't know how big you want to grow your plants but I use to run 6" RW cubes and later found they were just to damn big 2 1/2 x 4 was better.

@JACKMAYOFFER has made mention of most of those root issues you speak of.he said lots of people are spreading it through clones, must have clones lol.maybe he will come look and comment since I tagged him.gl
