yes i am defoliating . i usually start around day 60 with this particular strain . although , i am not running a scrog this round .

Hey Big Daddy - To be clear..... You are defoliating the "top", "bottom" or "entire" plant after day 60?

Also, what is the strategy for waiting until day 60 to defoliate?

I'm using cultured solution nutes there whole line and I add some cal mag if need be last run I was also adding terpinator but this run I haven't been want to see if it made a difference and I love to read so thanks for showing all the info

Hey RI420 - Apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this. I wanted to get baseline info inserted into the thread to aid in the quality of the discussion.

Which of the above recommendations are you following?

i also run the cs line of nutes .
i run pretty much by the chart with no additives .here are my girls day 65 of a possible 75-80 .the girls are snowdog x hells angels og kush and i also have one casey jones x hells angle og kush .ph5.7 380ppms

Those are really beautiful cola's Big Daddy! I had a look earlier on my iPhone - the screen size didn't do your ladies justice. I had to go back and have a look on my 20" monitor. they look beautiful! Great Job! :)

I assume that you are in day 65 of flower. It looks like you vegged these ladies for 60 days prior to flower?

I see that you are using Cal-Mag. Which brand of Cal-Mag are you using?

Which of the charts posted above would you say that you are generally following?

Also... If you would be willing to share, would love to see a few root zone pics as well as a measurement of the stalks.

Your plants look beautiful.... You obviously have them dialed in - no signs of the stresses which are common in UCs.

Using cultured solutions with everything but the early bloom booster. Using 1ml calimagic per gallon... i was running the recommended ppm by cultured solutions plus about 50ppm-100 on the 500 scale

What are you guys running the ppm at? Any additives?

As of November 2014, we are using CS's line. No additives beyond the CS line with the exception of a Cal Mag supplement. Currently we are running GH Cali-Mag.

We have learned that its best to go very lean on the Cali-Mag dosing, its very concentrate. You might have seen earlier in this thread that I asked DapperDan and FooDoo about the "Claw". All Cal Mag supplements have nitrogen in varying quantities and its easy to overdose.

For example, we were initially running Botanicare Cal-Mag at around 1 ml to 1.5 ml / gal during veg. With GH Cali-Mag, we are running .5 ml / gal to 1 ml / gal. These doses vary depending on the phase of growth and watching the plants - there pretty good at telling us what they want - although interpreting what it is they are asking for can be a little challenging at times.

We run Co2 which dramatically increases the plants appetite. As such, we flush weekly and dose Cali-Mag half way thru the flush week. Because we auto dose nutes with ppm controllers directly into the epicenter and dose Cal Mag in two separate doses..... the plants have an uneven Cal Mag dose. We are experimenting with the Cal Mag dosing. We would like for our plants to have a level dose of Cal Mag consistently available versus swings in Cal Mag available.

Also, because we don't use mixing res's, we use the float valve in the epicenter to add makeup RO only. The nutrient solution is always at the same level and volume in the DWC, about a 1/2" below the net pots. We have found that our plants like other living organisms feed and hydrate as independent functions.

Lastly, we have found that mixing nute lines isn't the best idea. As FooDoo noted earlier in this thread, nutrient manufacturers aren't the best at full disclosure when it comes to their recipe and were not chemists, were guys who like to grow big beautiful plants. So we try and keep it as simple as possible.

when i turn them out to 12/12 i shave their legs and clean all small branching at the bottom.

during the first 60 days i only pull leaves that are blocking bud sites .because the leaves are carrying valuable sugars and nutrients .

during the final last two weeks i gradually pull as much shade leaf as possible to let all the lighting in and finish maturing .

this is what works for me !

i pre veged for all most 6 weeks in quart size containers in grow cubes . (is not something i recommend ),

i veged in the uc for 21 days before i flipped to 12/12 .

i have not used cal-mag in this particular run . plants did not call for it . when i do need cal-mag i use botanicare 2-0-0 .

i go by the middle chart high yield .

i cannot pull the plant up for i have them tied down strategically.will take a picture of root zone when harvest .
like i said it was a short veg of three weeks so the stalks are really not that big !
