Hey guys I'm shooting for a pound off of my grow. I have 3 plants. 1 OGKB, 1 GSC, 1 grape ape. How tall should I let them veg to achieve this? I've been training them, they are clones not seed though. 3 I'm front are the ones I'm going to flower
I guess it kinda depends on the light and hood your running. My very first flower run i had 4 plants trained trimmed topped fimmed and super cropped ready to go nuts. It worked. But my increase in tops didnt necessarily give me a bigger harvest.
I still ended up with an average yield. Everything you can see on top there turned out good, but theres a fuck ton of "lower buds" And a good amount of ...i guess i wouldn't say larf, but lightly underdeveloped buds. Stuff i separated from my good top notch smoke... Feel me? I had a lot of bud sites NOT GETTING ENOUGH LIGHT to develop
600w hps for example, has more penetration, stronger light, i would have had more developed buds further down into my canopy.
I read somewhere the rule of thumb is about a half pound for 400wHPS light 3/4 pound for a 600wHPS and a lb per 1000wHPS is what you SHOULD at least get. However people pack more on cause of...you know...hydro, bigpots, perf condotions, genetics....ive heard people claim 2lb per 1000w for example.
You have to make 100% use of your light coverage i guess is what im trying to say.
If you look in that first picture, i have buds outside the light, stuff not under direct light, those didnt develop as well either.
So my plants put a lot of effort into these B buds, energy, nutrients, that it couldve used to make my other nugs BIGGER.
My advice. Fill out your light space, provide enough light. they WILL branch out and fill in.
Everything i said is in my opinion and experience, so anyone is welcome to disagree or confirm what i said.
Respect, good vibes
