Thx Friend.. Dogs are the best...

So the guy at the nursery said that the cover crops will sprout soon and slowly grow all winter.. He said in early spring that is when they will really start to boost and grow big.. He said I should cut the cover crops down with a weed whacker first to help manage the vegetation and then I can Till it into the soil easier.. I think i will do this around the end of march. I will add a bunch more fish meal, guanos, bone meal, trace minerals , chicken poop, and some other goodies at this time as well.... Is this when I should add the AACT and then cover the soil mound with a tarp and leave it until the middle of may when I normally plant my clones??? @Bulldog11 @Seamaiden
Yes, that's when I would do it. Sounds like a great plan and I think it's great that you have a local nursery (that a friend uses even!) who's already hip the cover crop thing and has a mix for you and everything. The folks around here look at me like I've sprouted horns.

Yeah harmony nursery was pretty awesome. The guy their had a wealth of knowledge about organic farming . It took him a couple minutes to open up and point me in the right direction but after a minute Or two he told me his advice on what he would do and how be would do it.

What else do people do over the winter that helps prepare them for the next year???

I shut my indoor down. We live in the suburbs and I have been running 16 lights for the past 3 in a half years. Never gotten under 18 pounds a run and am just really tired of doing it. My neighbors live right on both sides of me. I'm just ready for a break

I have a bunch of indoor supplies for sale.... 16 electronic ballasts- 16 radiant 8 hoods.. 16 1000w hortilux, Really nice brand new 36000 BTU air conditioner / heater// 6 4x6 tables- 70 gallon reservoirs.. Im willing to let go of this stuff for cheap... @Bulldog11 come do my drip systems and EVERYTHING IS FREE :)

hey man I mayb interested in the 1000s...you can pm me..thanks.

my friend is gonna buy all my old equipment... He's gonna give me 125 for the hood/ballast bulb combo and buy my nice 3 ton ac unit for 2500$ It was really sad to take down my garage today. Almost told the carpenter to set it back up when he was halfway through taking it down, But life goes on and sometimes its better to quit while your ahead then to continue to push your luck... I had almost 4 good years of solid runs. Never got less then 18 pounds in a 16 x 18 foot garage.... pretty good in my opinion.. The sonoma County Sour Diesel is the real deal and did me well over the last couple years.

It definitely can be worth it...Really nice to have consistent income every three months.. My advice would be these things... Look for a place with really tall ceilings- its much more important then people realize- 10 feet is a minimum and 11 feet is ideal... Pick one good strain that yields well and people want it consistently and really focus on that, after a couple runs and you really have your room dialed in then start messing around with different strains and techniques... My old roommate got the new 1100 watt bulbs and he has been absolutely killing it with the sour diesel.. He's been getting about 36 pounds off of his 12 lights pretty consistently... He has a huge amount of area he covers with each light- I think its close to a 6x6 foot space per light.. I had my 1000 watts pretty cramped thats why my yield per light was so much lower.. Spend the money and build your room really well and make sure your AC and Dehums are totally in sync... Last but not least make sure to keep the night time tempatures really really warm,, everyone that gets really good yields has really warm tempatures in the dark cycles.... and of course watch out for mites and powder and all the other pests- i kinda figured you have that under control...

I would love some good light dep advice bulldog. Gonna try to go pretty big next year. Got both properties locked down and I can pretty much set it up how I want. Most of my bigger friends suggest going with the smaller width and cheap framed hooped houses and just having someone pull them every day. Getting them big in veg is also key.

What advice are you looking for specifically? Also, do you know somebody that designs grow rooms. I lack the knowledge of ac and dehumidifiers on that scale. Been 10+ years since I had a serious indoor room.

My carpenter / electrician designs them but he is so busy these days its almost impossible to get him to do anything locally much less leave the county-- his wife just had a baby so hes been overbooked lately... As far as the light dep Im just wondering if theres a lot of common mistakes people make.. What tarps to use and the cheapest place to buy them.. Should i do one really large wide hoop house or do a couple smaller ones so its easier for one person to pull the tarps... Also if theres anything else you think that a first time Light dep person might do wrong and not realize it..

I just bought an arm system to help me pull my tarp. My greenhouse is 8' tall x 12' wide x 50 long and it was a bitch to pull myself. If I had pulled a muscle, or had some injury, I would not have been able to do it. Nor my wife. So I wouldn't go any bigger than that, and expect an easy pull.

I already talked about the fabric from Farmtek, I also just ordered up another grand worth. I am going hard on the deps this next season. I really like Farmtek's material because it is woven, and it breathes yet keeps the hoop house dark.

If I think of anything else I will post it up. Maybe keep in mind a good exhaust fan will be needed, so keep power close by.
