You start flowering when half the space between the plant and the safe distance between the light is gone. Most plants will double in size in the first few weeks of flowering. For example, if your light will only go to 6 feet in your 7 foot tent and you need the plant to be at least a foot away from your plant then you want to start flowering it when it is 2.5 feet tall, or just guage with your eyes. You can always supercrop it in the first few weeks of flower if it gets too tall during the stretch.

Very complex question with many different things to factor in please don't think because u have a 7ft tall room u want a 5 ft plant because they just aren't practical super cropping is a excellent method if your limited with the number of plants u can have also I've found the amount on stretch u get depends on your veg light schedule if u have your lights on 24/7 they wanna go through the roof but when the veg has been on a 18/6 the stretch doesn't seem as severe giving a much better chance of them big colas. what u are looking for is a dense 18"-2 ft canopy everything below that cut off so all energy goes into them top heads hope this helps :)

He says SCROG. So I would think around 20" , that way you have plenty of sites coming through.
Usually put netting up around 14" and then start training through net. They don't need to be tall to get a lot of sites, bushy.

I'm thinking I will get better results with auto in a hydro set up iws flood and drain more specifically for the simple fact I really don't like the fact of potting them in the pot there guna finish in straight away without getting a strong root system it goes against ever thing I've learnt I can't see how u can make sure all the substrate is wet but still making sure the youngster can drink all that fluid I can see how so many people can get so frustrated with autos for any of u guys with any experience is there anything u guys think I should know about auto in hydro

Hey @Seraphim19 the Big Bloom is just a EWC tea by Fox Farm..
View attachment 550521
I was suggesting to use in between feedings.. So feed one week with grow big and then next feeding use the Big Bloom with your ph'd water then next feeding grow big.
STR8

So this is week four.. Gave em 6.0 ml Root Stimulator, and 12.0 ml Grow Big per gallon four days ago .. Now it is four days later, still in week four, and they need another drink..

Just need to be sure.. Since this is a second watering during the week four, I do give them the same 6.0 root, and 12 of Grow Big, right ? Or was the one watering with the nutes four days ago good for the whole week, and I should just use straight water this time?

No problem.. Talk to ya tomorrow..

Because they felt dry a couple knuckles below surface, I had been adding about a half a quart every other day or so. Then learned they looked over watered, when I thought they needed it .. Any way, I let em dry out for about four days, then four days ago, I gave first real soaking. So it has been four days since that soak, then today the pots felt light, and leaves were drooping just a bit like they were also telling me they needed a drink, so gave them their second big drink..

A little everyday doesn't work does it. They really need the dry then wet cycle. A big drink once dry. Roots can't breathe proper if watered a lil everyday. I too learned this hard way lol. Learning how and when to water has really upped my game of growing.

Another question besides this last question is if it is better to water before lights go out, or after they come on ?

What does she look like now?
Week four / five ,she should be flowering by now ,yes?
Can we see a pic, it will help determine what stage your at.

Here ya go Str8

These five blackberry plants ( first pic below ) are well on their way, but the three Somangos ( second pic ) are still in pre-flower at this week four.

The new growth is a lot greener since I fed the Grow Big and Root Stim last watering.. Although all the plants are 1/4 the size they should be by now.. Last blackberry grow they were 30" tall at this time.. Instead they are all really small..

I don't know how much auto drink but I like to give em a drink on a Monday Wednesday Friday they like to dry a little but not bone dry it reduces the chances of any stale stagnant water left :)

Ok ,so they still need more nitrogen it looks,so let's do this..

End of week #4

#1 this feeding..
3/4 grow big-1/4 tiger bloom.-10 ml big bloom
So if you did 12. ml before of GB ,then do 8ml GB ,and 4ml tiger bloom.

Week #5
1/2 GB - 1/2 Tiger Bloom,-10 ml big bloom

End week #5
3/4 tiger bloom- 1/4 GRow big -15 ml big bloom ,1tsp molasses per gal.

Week#6
All tiger bloom ,15ml big bloom , 1tsp molasses per gal.

End of week six
Repeat last feeding.

Week #7
Big bloom and molasses

End of week #7
Flush with straight water 3xs the size of pot.

So if a three gallon pot then you will need nine gallons of water to flush with per plant. So put in bathtub and start pouring.
Then let drain .

Week #8
You could probably flush once more .

And straight water on thru to finish.
That's about how I would go,but tweak as needed if any problems.

They usually go about nine weeks or so.

Just don't over water. Don't rush it.
When you feed ,give them 1/2gal of plain water first. Then come back about 15mins later and water with nutes.

Thank you for both the last posts Str8 ..

So giving them 1/2 gallon plain water first will result in about a 1/2 to 3/4 a quart of run off. Then, if I water ( with nutes ) with the another 1/2 gallon, that will also result in another 1/2to 3/4 quart run off.

Are we shooting for this much run off both times , or do I want less run off second time, and is this double watering what you want me to do every watering, or are we just doing this plain water first and nutes second this one time ?

Also, can't help but ask about the adding of Tiger Bloom this watering.. I thought we did not want to add any bloom until they stop their stretch. Especially want to double check with adding the Tiger Bloom to the Samongo plants. They are still in pre-flower.

Just double checking :)

@geori ok let's water until it starts to run off ,then water with nutes until run offs a little more. you want a little more run off with the nutes.
We will do it like this every watering.

You will add the tiger bloom this time at 1/4 strength, that way by week 6 you will be feeding straight Bloom feed and give you needed time to get a good flush in by week 7.

Sorry about the Somangos.
Those you can continue giving the Grow Big and mix in the 10ml big bloom also.
