I have a friend that switched from canna to house and garden awhile ago because he can get it cheaper and he says he sees no difference in the plants. I buy canna by the pallet 70 bags at a time and get it for under 14 bucks a bag.

@stonestacker nice looking garden you have there . I use a cheap 3/4 horse sump pump I grabbed at menards to pump it outside. I use small totes to collect runoff and dump it in a trash can with the pump. Winter time it goes down the toilet.

Yeah i used canna and prolly every other brand out there.dont remember specific # on canna but it did have a really dark runoff unless rinsed real well.rinsing coco is the biggest turnoff for me i just dont have time to rinse that much media.but i used h & g for clones for months after switching back to all promix just to use up my coco and it does seem like i get cuts to root much faster in pure coco.

I do notice the stain in the runoff but it never seemed to bother the plants so I didn't worry about it. When I first started with coco I would check but I had good luck with it right away so I quit checking. I use small pots with frequent watering and my runoff is clear after a couple weeks. I sometimes get some leaf flares/ distortion when first transplanting rooted clones which I attribute to ph but it always works out quickly with no adjustments. Seedlings seem to do well for me also.

yeah i have never had a setup where i can water to runoff so thats why i never excelled in coco growing lol.

Sun System Epic 8" Hortilux super hps. I pulled the glass have not noticed a big difference time will tell.

you musta got your camera dialed in cause those pics dont look washed out from the hps at all bro,nice work :)

@mittenmedgrow I think I will pick up some canna and try one pot in my drip and see. It will be a min befor I need to uppot anything. But i'll definitely keep you posted and be looking for advice.

Any coco ive ever used i wash and rinse through with hot hot water first.

@Papa Indica i picked magnetic simply for reliability. Digi ballast...lol your gonna need a new one soon. Ive heard of dudes rockin their mag ballasts for 30 yrs + ill be surprised if you get 10 out of your digi.

You might get a small amount more weight, only really significant in a big op imo. Not enough to pick one over a mag ballast for a small personal grow. And as long as you house your ballast properly you won't burn nothin. idiots leave them on the floor, or places they build up heat. I built a small stand so heat build up on Any surface surrounding it isn't realistic!

Do you know anyone whos had their house burn down due to a balllast? Did they have it properly housed? Im sure even LED companies are trying to capitalize on fear selling their products over magnetic ballasts as well.

Plus. If my ballast DOES stop working i can always turn all the copper in to help on a down payment for a new one. And that's IF it breaks. WHEN your digi ballast breaks its gonna be a useless hunka junk.

So fuck you AND the digi ballast You rode in on! lol

My, my, struck a nerve there didn't I? I don't know anyone it's happened to personally but, I have heard of it happening and yes, it's probably due to stupidity, such things usually are. I personally don't have any extra space to build my ballast it's own shrine, the digital seems like the best choice for me and I always keep a spare of everything on hand, including a ballast, anything can fail. I don't have a lot of money to spend so, I usually go the cheaper road but, always do my research on the things I buy to make sure I get the best for my money.
Really wasn't knocking you for using it anyway just having some fun, lots of people still do, it's just not for me so it's fucking stupid. :p

That's what my friends like the most about me. There's no guessing about what I think cause I tell them just how it is. lol Must be why I don't have any. lol

My pots are sitting in trays so runoff isn't a problem. When Im first transplanting into new coco I water to slight runoff, let them sit for a couple hours to soak them hit them again and get a heavy runoff.

Yeah those look like shit no wonder you gave up coco. Kidding of course those look amazing just like everything else I see coming out your garden. What you think of the ad I used to run some aliendawg but my patients said they didn't like the flavor. I'm sure different plant than yours

They help alot. If you are going to be in their for long you will definitely notice a big difference. Just like wearing safety glasses they suck but serve a very important purpose. every one else uses them with no complaints. I like them but I wear bifocals so they don't work real well for me if I'm trying to do shit up close. Getting old suckes and there's no future in it.
