Yeah it is DE, trying to keep the gnats at bay, sometimes I sprinkle it across the floor like I am trying to catch the invisible man. No way I am stunting my auto, the tap root is as long as it is tall so transplanting it would just start you over imo. It will beef up when the solar panels open up, mine had to go away from direct light for two days and it stretched towards a window.

I just sprinkled what I had on hand when I saw gnats in my humidity dome. They got about half my clones but the DE top dressing on the cups kept the new larvae from emerging.

10/4 no they are reg's..
Yeah ,you should not repot Autos . Even though some do,but they risk the stress it can bring on.
Good luck with them..

My lil car auto never recovered from being burned. So I'm out sorry. But on a good note here is pics of my unknown unreleased auto I popped the same time.Im sorry to be out the comp but I have discovered autos and damn straight I'm growing more of them. Hope everyone had good hols.

Hey, i hope you guys do another oen of these, i wanna mess around with autos, real soon. I know thi is a question for the autoflower thread/sticky, but if i get a male auto and it pollenates a female of mine, is it guarenteed that those seeds will be autoflowering?

Hey Dab.. let's see if I can make this so it makes sense to ya..
It takes generations of breeding to convert a photo period, or regular type strain that must be force flowered under 12/12 lighting into an auto..
Using your example of a AF male pollinating a Reg female.. the seeds made would show maybe a 15-20% AF trait.. now, if you hit these seeds with pollen from the same male, your % of AF seeds each time will get higher.
It takes quite a bit of breeding to fully breed the regular 12/12 trait out of the plant and revert it to full on Auto.. breeders use MANY plants and MANY grows to do this taking up to 2yrs to get a finished product..
Now, AF x AF = Auto Flower. I hope this made sense to ya.. peace

I was told never to repot an auto

This is false.. I start all my Auto's in 1gal pots, accept for this contest of course..
I wait until the plants show sex and pick the best 6 females and plant them into 3gal pots.. after I repot them they blow the F up man.. they love it. What is bad is starting an Auto in too small of a pot like these red cups we are using for this contest like I am.. it actually stunts them bad. go check out some of my grows and you'll believe what I am saying.. I'm getting close to 2oz per plant now.. cheers

I got my female but she's one ugly tall stringy biotch so I FIM cut her hoping she'd fill out a bit better down the road.. I really had no choice to use her as I agreed with Seraphim's terms of having to use the very first female that showed because I have 3 others going that look much nicer then this stretchy girl.. ugh.

So if I started an auto in a solo cup and transplanted it before the tap root started circling the bottom would it stunt it?

Well, I'd not recommend that as transplanting to soon could cause some severe shock and also stunt them. Is the problem you don't have any 1gal pots then?
If so, the biggest issue I have starting seedlings in large pots like 3-5gal is water/moisture control.. but you'd be better off just starting in the larger pot then transplanting so soon.. like I said, I wait until they sex giving them time to establish a bit.. 1gal nursery pots are pretty cheap and I just get such good results going 1gal to 3gal hand watering lightly every other day.. and Auto's don't need much feeding if at all during veg.. I did an entire grow with 2 feeds that was killer.
hit me up on my grow thread and I'll help ya all ya want man.. ok

I took a few new shots tonight.. now just to let you guys know, this Auto is being grown now on 12/12 and why she is stretching so much.. I FIM cut her to slow it down and hoping she will fill out now a bit but if this was a regular grow of mine I would of culled her most likely.. not having the characteristics I'm looking for... BRB f1.

I have a 15 gallon cloth pot I am figuring I could fit 5 to 7 in it.
