the roots should be super white....maybe with just a slight yellow tint on the upper roots and as far as those plants are I would expect alot more root mass...I could be wrong......
usually healthy roots are bone white

I did check other plants that were in worse condition than the pictured roots I provided and they were white. When I get to the room later I will rinse them off and see. There is no slime and the only thing I saw inside the buckets when I lifted it was like a wet sand which was probably from the hydro stones. Not a lot but it was there.

there should be nothing in the rez..or buckets..especially residue from the hydro stone.....when running hydro....everything needs to be sterilized .....EVERYTHING.....
sounds to me like the whole system has been comprimised.....for the next run I would soak everything in 10% bleach solution including your stone....then precharge your stone by rinsing it in 5.8 ph'd RO water

when you purchase stone....out of the bag you need to rinse the stone with PH'd water until there is no residue and the water runs clear....that goes for every inert substrate uncluding coco unless when running coco you are using bagged precharged coco....but with lava rock/hydroton/stone....always needs to be rinsed...that sandy sludge could be effing up everything....those few degrees shouldnt matter in the res...but sandy sludge in the buckets def would

Had no idea about the rinsing. I'm hoping that's what's causing all this and if not, That's just adding to the problem. Thank you for the cleaning tips! I'll be sure to clean every inch of everything when this is all over for the next run. I'm really hoping dirty buckets is the problem here.

for your sake I hope so to

Yeah sterile in hydro is absolute....
and I mean everything...

well i wouldnt say sterile is an absolute for dro .maybe for beginners ? these are all ionic nute grown pics.no chiller but i was kinda anal about my res not going over 70f and 65f is my sweet spot.if my res was clear my roots were white.but when i started using humic acid and nitrozyme it was no longer clear, and my roots looked just like the water.my plants were healthy as could be in my setup.i dont care for all the work involved in hydro but if i was still doing it i would still be using that mix because it worked much better than sterile did for me.
6 c dro

Got roots
Hydro 003

but you def want to always rinse new hydroton/grow stones, and coco imo.i just rinsed mine with tap water.but the hydroton comes really dirty from the store.

Welcome Daniel13.
You have gotten some good advice from some very good growers. But in the end you are going to have to figure this out yourself with the advice from others. See what will work for you.
The first thing to ask yourself is what did you do different this run?
I only change one or two things at a time.
I run DTW in rockwool. I don't know shit about growstones. I have seen many growers over water using this style. Are you sure your buckets are drying out enough? I don't feed @ night.
Not to often do I run nutrients @ full strength. I start @ 1/2-3/4 strength and go up or down from their.
I have seen roots plug my feed and drain lines in the past.
I oxygenate my res using the waterfall method. How do you?
I always bleach out all of my equipment in between runs with 1/2 cup of bleach per gallon of water. I have used 33% H2O2 @ 3-4 ml per gallon to keep shit sterile in the past especially in my aero cloner.
If you used anything dark or tan in your res it stains your roots.
Just more food for thought.
If I can be of any help just ask.
Good luck.

Well this is my second run but first time with the flood and drain. I just top fed with rockwool last time. I'm just gonna go easy on the nutes and work my way up. I have an air stone in the Rez but I think I'm gonna have to get a stronger pump to get things moving around better cause I can hardly see any movement. I feed when the lights come on and they are all taking the nutes and asking for more. I feel most of the cubes to see if they want it just to be sure.

On another note. I counted the amount of good vs bad plants in the room and it's 40 good and 32 bad :/ and I can deffinitly see a difference with what the bad plants are producing, or should I say not producing. Below is the good one compared to the shit Devils claw :( like no signs of trichomes

so any update on what is going on and if it got fixed......I actually think they have been getting overwatered.....maybe not draining as should be

I've kept my eye on the flooding and draining and everything seems to be working fine actually.

My friend who gave me this mix and stands by the whole set up he did in my room, says to trust him and just turn down the lights to 600 and in 3-4 days things should start to look better and to turn it up to 750 next week. After he saw my room he said one of his rooms had the same problem but not with such a severe claw. He turned down his light and things got better. It's been a few days and things are actually getting better. No more dying fan leaves and buds are growing and I'm starting to see some trichomes forming on them finally. He said the room itself is small for the ammount of lights in there so he thinks it's light stress???

For my next run though, I'm going to take all the tips you all gave me just so everything is perfect. Thank you to everyone who commented and helped out. I greatly appreciate it!!!

On another note, I'm dealing with a flowering veg room! He told me to take the timers off and to leave the lights on for a few days. Will that bring my plants back to veg stage?

yes but it will take a little longer then a few days...depending on strain could take up to 3 weeks

Everything seems to be back on the right track. Thank god. Won't be an amazing harvest but will be decent for my second one.

Today is day 1 of week 4

looks really good man...keep it up...
Thank you! It was a stressful week so it's good to see things getting better.
If you guys want, I will post progress pics of the plants that had the crazy looking c shape claw leaves. I'm curious what those plants will look like when I take down.

Came across this today while I was going over my room. This one bud on the plant. All the other ones are fine on the plant and growing.
Does anyone know what this is from and what I should do?

Greetings, just came across your post. This picture with the brown pistals might not be good. Get a usb scope an check that plant for what looks like larvae.
