are the line shy? What size Tippett are you using what flies are you using? Those rainbows came from my neck of the woods. I do believe they came from mccloud hatchery

Count you blessings no weed anywhere
My friend is designated asker
Today he asked a guy who knew what he wanted before asking
Was a kiwi who said its been 6 months since last toke

Fish are huge
Very spooky
All sight fishing
4x tippet the one sipped the dropper and take off like rocket into brush snapped off in a couple of seconds
Very challenging very selective
Willow grubs they sit under willows and sip away
Casts drift right on spot and they have nothing's to do with it
Must be very stealth

Fish can be in shade or mid River
This River is spring fed flowing from a lake
An earthquake caused a blockage that made it flow underground For several miles then bubbling upstream aways down to this spot and for miles

Willow grubs
They hatch out and drop into water
The trout will sit under trees and sip away
Can cast to with fly spot on but they refuse so very smart and selective

So is it a willow grub imitation dry fly that your using? or do the grubs sink and your using a grub imitation as the dropper? What about the caddis stones mays and terrestrials?
Tiny midge may fly both dry and nymph Pretty sure grid is a dry

LOL come on @chickenman Not the one that got away story...... LMAO :p Peace man your living the dream either way......:D
It was fucking unreal
Saw the whole thing was about seventy feet away size 20 emerger barely under water
The cast was a foot away from fish it slowly moved over and sipped dropper
Perfect hook set and it exploded like a rocket to the bank side willows bending 6 wt rod to the max on less than five seconds then gone
The water is so clear
Long casts if they see any movement from shore they are gone
Casted to one many times then when we got closer turned out turned out to be a log
Resting and planning today
Back to Winton tomorrow for b day
Leg of lamb blue cod and whitefish
For tea. What they call dinner

Trippy color on those willow grubs, they look like a fluorescent green jujubee, lol.
Flyfishing is such a trip,Ive fished and spearfished all my life from trout to tuna to billfish but ive never really flyfished at all, someday soon im sure.
