Got home from work a little bit ago and checked on my tent and the light was off. It's supposed to come on at 7pm (it was 7:20). I have it plugged into a digital timer which is plugged into a surge protector which is plugged into the wall. Unplugged everything, checked the timer and it said it was 6:53, so obviously the timer's fucked up, BUT... I plugged the light straight into the wall and it worked fine. Reset the clock on the timer, plugged everything back into the wall and it wouldn't turn on. Plugged the light in with the timer only and it wouldn't turn on. Plugged the light on with just the surge protector and it wouldn't turn on. Very weird.

Anybody have any ideas? I have a back-up timer, so I'm not worried about that, but I AM worried about not having a surge protector. I'd feel much more comfortable knowing that it was plugged into one, ya know?

Light is an Apache AT600, dunno if that helps or not. Or if it even matters.

Let the bulbs cool for 20-30 minutes then try again.

But the light never turned on in the first place. And the bulbs dont get hot anyway. I can touch them even after it's been running for eight or nine hours. Or ten or eleven haha.

Get a new surge protector.your surge protector has gone out it sounds like.

But then wouldn't it turn on when it was plugged into the timer? It's not turning on no matter what, unless it's plugged straight into the wall.

Do you have a digital volt meter so you can check for voltage? You can pinpoint where the voltage stops.

It might sound dumb, but did you turn the timer on?
You got me on that one.

Your best bet is to track it down like OG Gong said.

I do have one, but I don't understand what you mean by "where the voltage stops."

Yeeeeahhhh, I dunno... Like I said, I just ordered a new surge protector and timer. I'm kinda freaking out a little bit, though, cuz my plants are 31 days above ground today, starting to show pre-flowers (found seven females outta 16 plants so far) and the light came on twenty minutes late today. And I'm gonna have to manually turn it off about thirty minutes earlier than it would normally turn off (unless I can figure out this other backup timer I have, never used it before and can't find the instructions) cuz I'm gonna have to go to work. I'm reeeeeallllyyyy hoping this doesn't fuck shit up too bad.

Thanks for yall's input, though. Love the farm!

I replace timers yearly. Seen too many pics of melted timers not to play it extra safe.

You won't stress them much , if any, by not having the light not turn on in time ..it's ok.

It's when a light turns on when it's supposed to be dark that will stress them out.

Best of luck.
Peace

I have a bag of maybe 10 digital timers that seem to be fine, visually, but won't turn on the lights anymore.

Had that same problem yesterday with one of them square timers luckily I had another timer on hand that came with the lights saved a few days on shipping order two mre just in case it happen again
