Yeah. This was his first time and I think the soil was so hot that it caused the plants to lock out. First they burned , then they went deficient and I think something he had in the compost caused maggots in the roots and it was just too much for the plant to handle. I may just be blowing smoke out my ass but. It was all I could think of. We tried to figure it out , no light leak , super anal when he built the room. He had the room lighted in Zippable black out plastic. Air cooled 1000 watt hps the room was like 6 by 8 perfect humidity , perfect Temps , so I said sit in your room and just wait till it goes from pitch black till you can see and the you'll be able to see it maybe lights coming through the vents. Nope. He'd put filters that kept the light out on the other side of the vent. So it had to be the soil because I have a cut of the same one that hermies on him and she hasn't on me. And it's in my back yard and neighbors turn their lights on at night they get splashed with a little portch light every once in a while and they havnt hermied on me yet. They're flowering awesome and it's not even close to pitch dark here. It never gets as dark as a room inside would and I've been trying to think , is there ever a time when we get a full 12 hours of pitch dark ? Not here at least. Dark at 9 and the sun comes up at 430 to 5 yet mine are still flowering. Idk. What else could it be. I figured the compost he used allowed the maggots to happen the maggots stressed the plants out and they popped nuts.

Well what I meant was it was too much nutrients in the mix and they locked each other out , maybe the pH went off and locked out. But probably the amount of nutrients grow and bloom at the same time. So at first they burned. Then they locked out and caused deficiency , then the stress caused them to hermie. I'm just throwing thoughts out there. I don't know for sure. But from what I see that's what it looks like , and the root maggots didn't help I'm sure. I mean you never wanna mix bloom and grow together and then add water because they can lock the nutes out I'm sure of that. The plants he started the next run had no issues I had him switch to promix myco...but the couple he had in the super soil all hermied again. Now they're all cuttings from the same few mothers so for the ones to hermie in the super soil , and the promix not to when he dropped to half strength feedings ...that's pretty telling right.

Yeah super soil as in they have everything they supposedly need in one mix. Me personally I've never built up any sort of soil that would last from seedling to flower. I don't really get the concept behind it because the plants need different nutes at different stages. Now I'm definitely no thesaurus or whatever when it comes to growing but I've been around the block. Isn't super soil supposed to be one soil to use throughout the grow. Like plant a seedling into it and it finishes in the same soil ? That's the only reason I mentioned grow and bloom. It would need something to get the plant through both right.

If I'm totaly off on this , I'd wicked appreciate an explanation , but what I was under the impression of , is that you'd need High n for veg and then high p and k for flower , something for calcium and magnesium , molybdenum , zinc etc. Well wouldn't it make sense that someone who tried to build that on their first grow would fuck up the mix ? Thanks for clarifying if I'm totaly off.

I didn't mean added anything after the soil was created. I meant maybe added too much of something in the initial creation of it ?

you add everything you need throughout the whole grow to the good base soil.you put a layer of this soil at base of final pot.then you add your regular soil on top of the hot soil.add the plant to its final home.cover with more reg soil.then just plain old chlorine less h20,from then on.i only add mollasses and a little seaweed tonic to my watering's.and I brew weekly,fortnightly ewc teas.when switching over to bloom,I may cut bk on the eart worm castings in my teas,and add high P bat guanos instead.and beetle frass,always.this way you can still give extra what the plant needs,even though she would be ,by now already taking up from the hot mix exactly what she needed.hope this helps.once you grow super soil,you wont ever want anything else.the best tasting,most dank bud,everytime.with no more messing about with bottles and ph metres.and yes you can buy super soil ready made from build a soil.....keiks...

The plant will up take what it needs when it needs it as long as it is available to it....You cant go wrong with amended soil...i dont recommend putting seedlings in it tho...let them get a few weeks and and than put em in and bang...they will explode and do jus fine to the finish line...ask @keiksweat! Yea mate? Am i telling a fib?
