She's looking gorgeous! Get a full two months cure on the recent harvest and I wouldn't be surprised if the scent profile changes, maybe significantly.

I usually let em go 6 weeks but if two months will do her one better I'm down for that! Thanks for the input.

I tossed my first batch of Longbottom Leaf clones because after a month's cure the mother buds smelled like gasoline. I don't care for that, so I figured why keep them around? Bad decision! After the second month they turned into this rich Lemon Pledge meets lemon meringue pie meets a wee bit of pine thing. I'm still kicking myself in the ass for that maneuver.

Oh I see what you're saying. Funny, my neighbor grew this amazing Durban/Diesel cross last year and while trimming he kicked me down one of his colas for helping out. I put it in the jar and left it in the fridge for 9 weeks.

He came over with some of his and you're absolutely right! My specimine was leagues above his! Thank you for your two cents. You're a peach!

I haven't posted any pictures since September 16th so here's the MGK this morning. Trich's are still creamy without a single amber in sight. I've been checking her daily. It was 96 here yesterday and albeit I soaked her in the morning she was dry when checking just now. Added a fluid oz of Killer Tea to today's water. I'm curious to see what she does! Enjoy!

Well here it is... I'm home from work and it's late evening/ early morning. We've got a low of 52 this evening and last night dropped to 54. Baby's turning Fall colors! I'll have to wait until daybreak to take pics but she's got purple hues everywhere. =)

I think in hindsight I would've hit this girl with colloidal silver and put her in reverse. The Mendo Grape Kush is indeed a rarity.

I can't wait to see what she does. Better thinking says to just let these things play out and no different than my last specimine i.e.; the Skywalker OG Kush.

To the outside world the next"Best pick" to be announced are the next 'greatest' genetics and then the next etc etc. Marketing is EVERYTHING.

Believe me. I Love Aficiaonado's thinking but their work haven't a thing to do with 'how' they are winning Cups. You know?

It just might not have anything to do with their genetics at all.

It would directly deal with how Swami; Taylor(daughter) and Tim Blake and Michelle decide what exactly makes it into the competition way before Santa Cruz Labs(SC Labs), have their hand in anything. Or if I am wrong, please, Tim, tell me I am wrong.

We in Northern California have a certain etiquette. Which, entitles me to write on forums like this one to state exactly what I see in lieu of judging panel that are NOT subject to change.

I am fully interested in who comes out on top this year with our new guide lines.

Should the Aficionado crew find their happy asses in the winner's circle again this Fall there will be no question that the proprietors of the Emerald Cup are indeed in bed, somehow.

Just a thought.

I other than what some patients get cause their too impatient all of my head stash gets a minimum of a 2 month cure. A slow long dry at 60% Rh followed with a vacuum sealed cure for 2 months in the fridge is magical!!!

As I have posted in other threads I have also cured up to and over 1.5 years. I have noticed diminished terpene profile and some loss of potency at 1.5 years tho. 2-6 months I believe is the sweet spot.

Since our contestants are now subject to scrutiny that reveals "why" their good name has been disqualified in public forum; should there not also be identification as to "why" our winners have won?

I mean, this year is more astringent in that your own good name is on the line. If you win or place or show; shouldn't there be a revealing element that states why the chosen winners have won?

Curious minds want to know.

That's some fine information. Thank you bunches! Come to think of it there was one year when I'd thrown a fresh dried sack in the crisper(fridge) and forgot about it. That just might've been the finest cure I've ever done and it was by accident!

The flavor was amazing and it burned to a white/grey ash. Thanks for the reminder. I'd forgotten about that one.

As previously stated it's been getting chilly at night and the MGK is turning colors...

Funny, I popped open one of the Skywalker jars today. Terpene profile is definitely changing. Still smells lawn-green and has a long way to go but hints of fuel and citrus have come out.

The MGK came down this morning. What a gawd-awefully beautiful plant. 80/20 creamy to amber trich's and a very exotic almost mango-sandalwood fragrance coming off of her. That's it for me for the season, folks. Pics coming soon!
