I've been ripped by teenagers before. Fuck me dude...it's only weed!

I've lost a son. There is no greater pain, IMO. For sure it hurts far more (forever) than losing a couple of fuckin pot plants.

Teenagers do stupid shit. I know we sure did. Tell ya what though...if you shot my kid dead for ANY reason....you would die soon afterwards...and very slowly too boot. Then I'd piss on your body and bury you shallow enough the coyotes ate what was left of your sorry ass...

Seriously? Yeah...fuck that.

I can get on board the 'Fuck Rippers' train but if this guy caught cultivation charges, owns guns, and shoots kids, he's on his own. Mentioning the make-my-day law in this story is a fucking travesty. At no time was this asshole's life in danger, he hid on the second floor shooting multiple times. He doesn't even mention that he fired the shots. "Gee golly officer, I just came outside in the middle of the night and found these kids in the yard" And it's happened before from kids 'stealing bikes'. Why do bike thieves live and rippers die? Why is he the judge jury and literally the executioner?

Fuck that.

edit- I say fuck rippers because they are assholes, but they don't deserve to die.

I think this is a very good reason to restrict outdoor grows in urban and higher population areas. Kids are always going to be stupid, and it's on us as a community to be responsible and as safe as possible given what goes on. I would not consider this asshole to be a part of this community no matter how that term is defined.

"Make My Day" only comes into effect if they enter your residence and you are faced with deadly force. This wasn't even close.

As far as restricting grows in urban/highly populated areas...A 64 already dictates that any outdoor crop be contained in a fully lockable enclosure with 4 sides and a roof. Just having them in the open in your yard (locked gate or not) like this guy doesn't count and...as we are seeing here...makes it an illegal grow.

Another great example of how a "good guy" with a firearm can turn into a "bad guy" with a firearm when they start to think their gun ownership gives them the right to defend or protect themselves/others in >any and all< instances.

Nope. Sorry. Try again.

If my family and or property were at risk, YES. With out hesitation. If said person was on my property, and had a weapon, YES. Now I wouldn't immediately shoot to kill, more or less render him or her unable to attack. Then if said person kept moving.forward, then it's game over .

I was recently awakened at 3am by my dogs. I went to the front sliding glass door there was a guy trying to break into my house. I yelled at him to get the fuck out of here through the glass door. He looks at me with a blank look on his face inches from my face. Then he attempts to break the window with his fists and still tries to open the door he wouldn't stop. I run and grab my s/w 9mm yell at my wife to call 911. Run back to the door and proceed to tell him to leave he was absolutely out of his mind and would not stop. I raised my pistol to his forehead and taped on the glass with the end of the barrel inches from his forehead and yell leave or else, he looks up straight at the barrel stops turns and stumbles away off my property.
I would not have been justified killing this man at this point unless he had broken in and I felt me or my wife or my dogs lives were threatened. This man should have not used deadly force in this situation and he will pay the price if the court is just.

This guy will pay big time and so would you....
Colorado laws states must be inside dwelling posing a threat...
His fellow inmates will surely make him pay real big time..

I despise people that steal and the initial reaction is "fuck em, got what they deserved." But...well sniping some kids for being in your lawn...not something I could do. I am a big softie nowadays.

I caught a kid in denver stealing my bike and almost stabbed his ass i was so pissed off. But yeah sneaking onto someone elses property in the middle of the night is not a good idea, especially jumping fences and shit. Homie probably couldve fired a warning shot and scared them off who knows. Maybe they intended to come into the house who knows. This is one reason I left Denver, too much crime and people with guns. This is one reason I dont own guns, because I would maybe make a mistake and kill someone. Ive had drunk people walk in my apartment in the middle of the night, thats how you get shot. Honestly this guy was protecting his property and medicine, so I think maybe manslaughter or involuntary or something. Would it be better if he shot adults.. Too bad its not the 1800's and we cant just go around with holsters and shoot people in self defense everyday

first off the idiot is breaking the law because he's in town without a locked green house. And more plants then allowed making him an illeagal drug dealer so there goes any defense he might have had.
I don't think this plant money or anything I own accept my family is worth killing anyone over.
And in this case he shot from the second floor? You don't even know who your shooting?

Colorado is a state that fights for childrens rights.

Those who have been shot at or who have shot at people and have almost died or almost killed have insight...

As a hypothetical, what if the kid in question was special needs and did not really know any better. My neighbors had a teen son with autism that would occasionally get out and run around going into any door he saw, even trying to climb fences. That is one reason the shoot first approach isn't acceptable to me. By all means, I support protecting yourself, family, property, etc. But you need to be pretty sure that person is a legitimate threat first.

I think the scariest part of this story is that there aren't many people who own guns and know the laws that affect them. It is mind boggling to me that make my day was even mentioned as being related to this story.

Make my day shooting out of a second story window. Like hunting bald eagles on Southpark.

"They're coming right for us!" except this isn't funny.
