I actually did use the spray bottle filled with very cold water. Part of my problem with that was I bought the largest spray bottle and it was hard to get it inside the bag (due to size) and spray it at the proper angle. It was a bit difficult scraping the screen with the spoon at first but I got a little better after a couple bags.

After letting the mix sit in the straining bucket for 10 minutes, I ended up dumping the material and ice in a trash can without rinsing it into the bucket first. Later on when I went to dump that material the water was full of trichs! I really messed up by not rinsing that material through.

Getting my brand new bags clean was and is very important to me. I had done the research on cleaning them even prior to my first run so I knew to and what not to do. I was very surprised to see that they were not completely clean. I was just so caught up in recovery (and not letting the bags sit in the water too long) that cleaning the bags took a back seat. I didn't want to have to use alcohol but I might. Not sure if I might go the olive oil route as it seems less harsh on the bags. Just hate the thought of trying to wash the olive oil out.

I took a couple pics of the product dry for 36 hours. All 3 of these (left to right, 90, 73, and 45) are pliable and workable. The 90 is the most play dough like and the blondest as well. The 73 is a bit darker and the 45 is the darkest. They all have a nice smell to them. I've smoked the 90 and it is very nice. It bubbles a lot but doesn't melt into the bud. What exactly is full melt? Does tht mean it melts into the bud and disappears once its spent?

All 3 appear to me to be dry completely but I'm not sure. I've had them stored in small tupperware containers after sitting in pyrex for 36 hours to dry. The humidity has been very low (20%) all weekend so I've been carefull not to let it overdry. I burp the tupperware containers every 12 hours or so for a few minutes. Does that sound like good tecnique? Thanks!
try totally drying the bags in a cool dry room for a week and the hash will come off just by rubbing the screen against itself very gently. that's how I clean my bags

It has been waaaay to long since I used mine. Maybe I'll be able to make some time this winter. There are some very interesting new techniques out there using liquid nitrogen and bubble bags that I am curious about.

I find it a bit tedious but hey always worth it in the end. I have probs when scraping the finished product off my bags cuz its so oily and sticky that I cant do anything with it. It never fully dries either..always stays sticky as shit so I just put it in the freezer and break off chunks to smoke. wtf am I doin wrong?

I have seen some guys skipping all the bags and only using one or two. ?? wassup wit that

Bakeaked - what do you mean by hiring a large CO2 frire extinguisher? That must be a UK/term, I'm not quire sure what you are talking about.
If you take a co2 fire extinguisher or a co2 tank and a pillowcase and some really good cold resistant gloves you can make dry ice at home what you do is put on the gloves and put the pillowcase over the gas spicket nosel thing hold it on there like a ruber baloon with just the edges (opening area) of the pillowcase on the nosel of the tank and crank the tank full blast the co2 in the small area will turn into dryice

Do this outside for sure co2 is toxic at a very low percentage I think like 2%co2 to a 98% oxygen ratio

Id practice pouring regular water out of whatever container you plan on keeping your liquid nitrogen in if you splash yourself you could lose a finger toe or even worse a limb if you do go this route please be very careful and proceed with extreme caution

Has anyone made bubble and then distilled the end water at a lower temp than water boils to try to recapture the lost terps?

I hope this helps others out there get better bubble. Feel free to PM me if anyone has questions or if there is something that I did not explain very well.

Peace

Sticky is good in my opinion, it means you have preserved the terpenes and other aromatics which give bubble hash the full profile of cannabanoids. Just keep it frozen and take off chunks as needed to smoke.

Skipping bags is usually just a way to speed up the process. However certain strains will often yield mostly in 1 or two bags. So if you are familiar with the strain you are running and you know for example, the 90 never collects much, and the 73 always collects the most, the removing the 90 will make it easier for you as there will be one less bag to pull. Using just one or two bags generally produces lower quality product though, even with your strain dialed in you need at least 3 bags to get high quality.

I have been hearing about people using liquid N to make it. Sounds good in theory but potentially dangerous as well. It would get around some of the issues with using water to extract though (bubble hash is notorious for having bacterial and fungal contamination). I have not yet gotten to smoke any liquid N though so at this point it is all hear-say.

If you are using fresh frozen material and keeping everything as cold as possible through the whole process your terp loss should be very minimal. But no, I have never tried that.

Sour Diesel and Lemon Jack. Guava Kush was also really nice too - didn't yield like the SD and LJ did but the smell and flavor was incredible.

For rosin I think the dry route would work better. I haven't really seen much rosin made with bubble though, you should try it and see how it works.
