Shit takes time that's for sure. Your gonna have fun with your build out! Have you decided exactly how your gonna do it?
And he is in soil so I'm not sure what to tell him on the CA def. He is gonna post his median, nutes, set up here in a sec..
So the plants are in e.b. Stone organics ultimate recipe soil, three gallon smartpots. The girls were fed ewc tea with some kelp and fish through veg and two weeks into flower. With a little cal/mag mixed in as well with each watering, except for last watering when I introduced the bloom nutes. And a week later I got the yellowing and purple stems. My bloom nutes are roots organic Buddha bloom and hp2 bloombooster. I've only fed them with this once so far. Just watered today with cal/mag and a very light dose of bioroot general organics. Next watering will be another bloom feed with both the Buddha and hp2, and some cal/mg of course:)

Thanks, they were def greener when they got a little cal/mg with each watering. Back to that approach:)
But to answer your question. Ppm is a measurement. It measures the salinity of a solution. The solution is water in our case. Salinity is basically salt or salts. .. Nutrients are essentially salts.
Take a glass of water and stir in one tablespoon of salt. See how cloudy it would be. Then mix another in it. Now it's even more cloudy because there is more salt.
If we take a ppm meter and sit it in the water after each spoon of salt we will get a reading on how much salt is in there.
In the case of using bottled nutrients, we stir in 6 ml per gal and get 700 ppm. So we know there is 700 ppm (parts per million) in the mix. If it's to high we add water till we thin it to desired ppm. If it's low we add more nutes, etc....
And after that we pH it to desired ph...
Hopefully that helps...

Did you see Wishers new little setup? It's stellar! If I was just starting out, this is what I would have! And it's only 2x4x? 6 I think? Utilization of room and watering system is phenomenal!
It's about the same size as my room, mines 2.5x5. If I ever get my shit together I'd want that set up for sure.

Very helpful. Guess I need a ppm meter. Thanks

yeah before I transplanted I stripped the shit out of my girls
I only left 2 nodes on the top
on each clone
I want all energy to go directly into huge tops

so for that little Ca def on the soil plants

I wouldnt worry about it
hit it with some epsom salt for the purple if you wanted but yeah a little dash of Calmg will fix it

I'm always lurking in the background. Never know when I'll drop the like bomb

Thanks wisher, the plants seem happy otherwise, I'll just keep up with the calmg on each watering
