When I set up multi lamp veg I plant to space the 315's out on 3' centers for coverage and likely 24" high. I flower at 16" now.

There is only one size. 315. Comes in 2 spectrums. And Phillips tests much higher par than the rest.

It is made for a vertical open fixture and a square wave low frequency ballast.

My sun system open very reflector is about as powerful in a 3' area as my 600 hps or mh is in a 4' area.

2.5' square is ideal for flower. Likely 4' for veg.

Growers house has a great selection. Watch for their weekly discounts. I got a sun system remote reflector a galaxy dimmable ballast and the Phillips bulb for $360 delivered with 15% off sale.

The all in one unit has better reflector insert but is in the mid $400's.

I bought a cheapie 315 from chlorophyll for under their current sale price of $299, but it's made by chinamen and it has hot spots, horizontal bulb.
Different store honored and price matched a vertical phantom 315lec with remote ballast, and it is worth the price if you can find a deal. I'm assuming phantom is easier to deal with than an offbrand if there are issues, and maybe someone smarter than me can confirm that the vertical bulb has better light penetration into the canopy. Moving to LEC has made my nighttime temps drop significantly from only having hps bulbs in that room.
