Well your drying method depends on your situation. Can you control humidity and temp? If you can, i found the best was to cut branches, trim off all the big fans, and hang,, keep temp 65, and rh 63... If you have lower rh, then u may want to hang whole... When i hung whole it tool almost 21 days... was too long... when i wet trimmed, it dried a lil to quick and lost some of the smell. So i found hanging by branches the best. I also put a fan in there to circulate air, but i never had it blowing right on them.... hope that shines some light..

Hey @incogneato give this a read..it's not my own info just something I stumbled across
http://www.invalid.com/attachments/harvesting-curing/2081992d1332421936-harvesting-curing-questions-416ed539de8ba07f07529d9b05f8c67b5_converted.jpg

This method is particularly effective for folks who are starting out, those looking to maximize quality in a shorter period of time, and folks who's like to produce a connoisseur-quality product each and every time with no guesswork involved.

It's a very simple and effective process:

Cut the product, trim it per your preference, but don't dry it until the stems snap. Take it down while the stems still have some flex, but the product feel dry on the outside. This is a perfect opportunity to drop the dry-feeling flowers onto a screen and collect prime-quality kief that would otherwise get lost in the jar.

Jar the product, along with a Caliber III hygrometer. One can be had on Ebay for ~$20. Having tested a number of hygrometers - digital and analog - this model in particular produced consistent, accurate results. The Hydroset/Xikar hygrometers are also recommend after calibration. Then, watch the readings:

+70% RH - too wet, needs to sit outside the jar to dry for 12-24 hours, depending.

65-70% RH - the product is almost in the cure zone, if you will. It can be slowly brought to optimum RH by opening the lid for 2-4 hours.

60-65% RH - the stems snap, the product feels a bit sticky, and it is curing.

55-60% RH - at this point it can be stored for an extended period (3 months or more) without worrying about mold. The product will continue to cure.

Below 55% RH - the RH is too low for the curing process to take place. The product starts to feel brittle. Once you've hit this point, nothing will make it better. Adding moisture won't restart the curing process; it will just make the product wet. If you measure a RH below 55% don't panic. Read below:

Obviously, the product need time to sweat in the jar. As such, accurate readings won't be seen for ~24 hours, assuming the flowers are in the optimal cure zone. If you're curing the product for long-term storage, give the flowers 4-5 days for an accurate reading. If the product is sill very wet, a +70% RH reading will show within hours. If you see the RH rising ~1% per hour, keep a close eye on the product, as it's likely too moist.

Wow! Got some really frosty buds there.
Beautiful.
Thanks fellas! I can't wait to see how they came out. The trics are almost all milky with maybe 1-2% amber, maybe 5-6% clear. I'll try to get tric shots when I trim. My room is at 50% rh and 66Β° I put a few pans of water in front of the fan and I'll check it in the morning.

Room sounds good. Should be dark with indirect ventilation. Not so much the buds are swaying in the wind. I hang a curtain in front of the closet and the flower room fans and exhaust push and pull on the curtain gently.

And the trichs sound good. Should give good representation of the different strains highs and flavors. It's hard to grow all those different plants. Kudos my friend!

I don't even like to guess my own yield. But I used to weigh the plants biggest cola wet and estimate dry weight at 20%. Then just size up the plant on average. Can get close.

You shining like a star right now broham.....nice work!!!

Friday will be 11 weeks.....and look at all this green. I took out the hps Saturday and put the 600w mh back in there, but removed the glass to allow more light. I remember @rmoltis saying that they will recognize the lower light as winter approaching. I know it should also help resin production having the mh in there. Im pulling out all the stops.

I'm ready to harvest when they are. Shit they've gotten 2 weeks of just ph'd water. Getting slightly impatient lol
Your patience is paying off, those buds are looking a PHAT!!!! I'm def going at least 10 weeks on my girls this round and probably always. Nice work

nice bro..

Wow! This place just pumps you up to grow. So glad I joined.

The "other"site I frequent would have bombed this thread with know it all unnecessary criticism and advice. Maybe for pages if they were jealous enough. Lol.

Just had to say that @incogneato

Now back to the party at hand......
