Well, we had some riding colts put down this morning because things just didnt go right, when they went to the bottoms. The cowboys took saddle strings with em when they went, they earned their bisquits and left some horse flesh in those bottoms.

Beer is the least we could do.

just got a call, some cowboys are still out. its raining and getting dark. Got a saddle string tied up w of here and tracks into the bottoms, they are pushing cows up.

Friday or sat will be good for me Goldnboy. I just had the wife pull some tri tip roasts out of the freezer for the to-do. I will be upppoting seedlings and clones those two days, as soon as we get this mess cleaned up. We will be pitting dead cattle tomorrow, then back to business. Get er cleaned up where we dont have to look at it, then move on.

Got my trim run back

My family has to worry about grass and water for the cattle. We get a few cold snaps in south texas but we get big time dry heat about 9 to 10 months of the year. Dad used to say he ran the ac 11 months.

Bad place for colts, but I've been there. If you still need riders, hit me up. I'm two horse, & two wheel drive, but can rope and ride.
Looking forward to up potting. I know I have a lot to learn, and I'm looking forward to it.

They wore out their strings in belly deep snow dragging horses with em. Quite a few cowboys rode 40 miles w 3 horse strings. Some of the horses didnt make it out of the cottonwoods, thats the way it goes I guess. I recon were good here, the roads are few and far between. Itll work itself out. I can gaurantee there is some cow hands around here who will never have to buy horse hay again. Itll just be stacked out by their pens.

Its meant to be 75 this weekend, well get er cleaned up and put it behind us. Im looking forward to dragging my seedlings out and giving ole goldnboy the talk up, not all my babies got blown away, and we care about those seedlines just as much as we like those angus cattle.

I spent the spring of '97 in Wyoming. What we get down here doesn't compare. It was -60°, and blowing. So cold, my eyelashes froze together, frostbite on my ears, toes and face. But, I didn't lose a single calf. Granted, we put 250 mother cows, and 100 heifers & their calves, sardine style, in the calving barn.
The water pipes were run inside the house, but still froze. Sucked, but I could still go to work for the man, today. A 100% calf crop. Twins made up for the only calf lost, that year. Haven't lived up to it, since. But, yeah.

Wyoming, theres a deal. My dad was top hand at wilson ranch, meeteetse , for 5 yrs when I was young, we lived in a house by the greybull river. After that deal, we moved to the jones ranch on owl creek in hot springs county, in the wind river mountains.

I recon if I die up there it would be ok. I plan to build a trapping cabin up there someday and finish it out up in the hills. that wind river mountain range.

Thats a place up there where I could winter pretty good, and trap 3-400 yotes and a pile of cats, and spend my time fishing the big horn up to worland. I will be doin' er before i shit my last load.

Just caught it, hoeback junction, used to shoot lots of big mulies, and ran some lions down that way with dogs. Wed hit the spring season and hope for ice out at the gorge so we could do some lake trout fishing.

Rode the thigh deserts of Nevada, after that. By day, an endless sea of sagebrush, by night, not a man made light, for as far as the eye could see. If you looked up, the stars would overcome you. I'd Fall over backwards, just to stare at em for a while. Mind blowing.
I haven't been everywhere, but I've seen heaven. The Humboldt national forest is close enough for me.

you can be sure, if its fun the wife would hate it. im over the pussy deal, id rather skin $70 yotes and get drunk.

My wife at the jones ranch summer sheep ground cabin (I took her ass up there, shes from LA incidently), where id like to dig in and spent a few winters...........

'WTF"

And she wasnt kidding.

I was looking at the chic, my wife, the other day as she was going on and on, and thinking I could send here to monterrey california to live in a condo by her dad if I sold my dryland wheat ground, and fuck off up to wyo and it would work out fine. Esp if I never came to visit.

I think about these things, maybe im defective, like dabbie.

lol
