Morning, gents. Rainy and dreary here. Great day for a funeral. Looks like it's me, Netflix, and the bubble pipe for the day.

The pump should be inside a casing. In sand they can get stuck, but I've gotten them loose, even on really deep wells. Cowboy skill set has to include the ability to fix submersible pumps & windmills. If I was closer, I'd come give you a hand. How deep is the well?Stoned but not that stoned...
got ahold of the repair guy i guess the well's in this neighborhood are notorious for their 4" pumps getting stuck inside the well and unable to remove, so he said theres a chance we may need a new well .....

LD, you're gonna love dementia. My mother asked me yesterday if I had a brother. She forgot her own first born son.
If'n you'd mentioned that an hour ago, you'd saved him $152!
I dont claim to know much about well pumps but i wudda got on the Internet and done a lil diggin myself....I was busy sleeping an hour ago, and saving him $$ isnt my job.........its his..........:eyepiece:
We use grundfos pumps and motors here, pricey but longterm quality. Neighbor has a little windmill rig, so we do our own well work.

To tell the truth, I wouldn't know anything about in ground well pumps, either. Mine's still an old Shetler, made in the mid 70s three miles from where I live, and rebuilt a few years ago. Best pump they ever made. The old man built the business just after WWII, it grew and thrived. He died, the son took over, sold out to a big company that basically ran the company into the ground by cheapening up everything, and went out of business.
