Saves him transplant time
Man that was an old ass post. I still stick with the premise though. I like to keep my coco wet all the time. At most I let the top inch dry up. I personally don't see any slowdown after transplant, but I do it very carefully so as not to disrupt the roots. Joey's got the hang for sure and already finished some fire bud. Looking forward to the next round.

Yes sir. Lol. That was the plan. Since then I have gone down to flowering in 3 gal pots since doing more research in Coco and I love the 3 gal. They can get pretty big in small containers in Coco. This time I went from solo cup to 1 gal to the final 3 gal. In doing it both ways I honestly think what's best for me is to go solo cup until roots are nice and full and then straight to 3 gal. To me it's best of both worlds because it's less transplant and if the roots are developed the 3 gal is not too big at all and they find the walls fast

I agree I don't like my coco to dry too much and that's almost impossible with huge pots with small roots without getting waterlogged. Most people overlook in the thread that I actually hat to DOWN pot into 3 gal because of overwatering symptoms and j flowered in those 3 gal. This time I went solo to 1 gal to 3 gal. They filled up the 1 gal pots so fast tho I'm thinking solo cup until an ice thick root system is in place then to 3 gal. This is the fun of it all tho. Learning what works best for your situation.

Thanks for the kind words bro! It's awesome to hear you say that and you're looking forward to future grows. We put a lot of effort and time into learning and it definitely feels good when people notice. Thanks brotha!

Diggin the show bud! To further clarify to GganjaNGains, when growing in coco we never like to give just water, (most coco growers) we always give some nutes. If you have a 1 gallon root ball in a 5 gallon container you are wasting a lot of nutes just to keep the coco wet and have some runoff. I like to water daily to every other day which would mean a lot of waste if I over pot. No use wasting nutes on coco if there are no roots present and there won't be for another couple weeks. I found that my roses really like the waste water though so its not all bad.

Did I say not to give nutes to coco I know that would b a big no lol? Good vibes

I think what he's saying is if you are using a big pot it will take a lot more solution (water,nutrients...) to saturate the entire pot and if there is no roots in 3/4 of the pot those nutes are going to waste. I think it's all on personal situation. If you're issue is not the amount of nutes you want to waste but you want to not deal with transplant then it probably would be smart to get in one pot and let them fill it out from the start. All this discussion and banter is the only way we learn tho. I love it

Ha ok cuz I was lil lost lol but ok I def see what your saying makes sense

Was not trying to be smart sir and good vibes to you too! Some people do give plain water, but I agree that is a no no. Gotta keep the medium healthy!
Do you top feed bro? I'm going to get an automated system hooked up to keep a more consistent moisture level. Looking for. Examples from other coco growers for the best option. I definitely want to have multiple reservoirs since I plan on having multiple strains. Even now my Jack Herer is a way lighter feeder than my white widow

I don't have any kind of automation for watering. I just mix and pour. I have had plants that didn't seem to like how strong the feed was so I had to mix separate for them which is a hassle. It was only while they were small though. After they get bigger they seem to be able to handle it better. Multiple reservoirs sound cool though. Its nice to be that in tune with what your plants want. Eventually I will probably set up some kind of automation so I can do multiple feeds per day without having to be constantly mixing.

This is all the video you need..
Scale to size...

Bro. How have I not seen those?? I love them. Honestly brotha I think I just found my set up. It's pretty much the same basic idea I had goin but I'm loving those floraflex. I'm gonna start getting parts together this week

I'm looking forward to seeing how you like the cmh lighting. I'm thinking of adding a 315 to my 1000hps in the flower room to add a little more spectrum as opposed to just adding another hps. I'm pretty sure it's the way to go but still wanna know how you and others like it
