That was some deep shit brother! It's really cool that you're getting to spend time doing what you love. Your garden looks great and you get to hang out with deer, how cool is that. Nature is awesome and it's nice to get to enjoy it. Down in the city where I grew up there weren't even any open fields left. We would go camping sometimes to Santa Barbara and I loved it. Like a whole other (better) world. I'll hopefully be gardening until I die like grandma. She lived to be 87 and had a garden every year til the end.
thanks my friend,,it is a great end to a hot ass day,,dont give up hope and bet it will fall right in your lap one day

I am close to your age, and am starting the transistion from youth to middle age. Body is tore down, hands cramp into crab claws constintly during the day. No complaint its part of that contract of life.

To mother a seed and take its love is very much all of it for me. Not a tree hugger either, that mentality is so far from the trueth in my eyes.

I am thankfull for everyday, I stop what I am doing everyday and I watch the sun go down. No clue how many I will get. Its nice to hear the day evolve,to hear the chorus of the day and the nite.

We are rich country folk, but our wealth is mesured in many ways those that are rich cannot have, or do not want.

I took your advice and my mind is running in over drive as the sun set tonite. Thanks for being beside me tonite.

solo #3 has pop dirt. so hope i can keep it rocking all the way through. im pissed at my self for staring the solo cups . but whatever, this is basically my first try since i do not remember what i did with my plants early on.

anyhow yeah man im good.
time to get medicated!
chris.
I have been using my old egg shells as pots for my new seedlings. So I eat the egg, boiled, empty it of all fleshy material, fill it with coco/peat, plant a seed and away i go. Once its sprouted, I take the whole egg and plant and repot it.
When i do the next lot i will snap a picture. It works acers and reduces any need for N P and Ca, plus is doesnt piss off mycorrhiza like liquid root stims etc

hha aint that the truth bro. hha that is what kids were for doing shit jobs. hah, but it gave us character.. when i was a kid i could work and make money no one gave a shit. and i think that hurt society because even tho i had shit jobs the adult would not do unless they had no kid to do it would still pay you. gave you warm fuzzy feeling as a kid. and hey we needed beer. hah.

we are doomed and will need a reboot.. i know that is gonna happen it hast to no way can mother earth keep up with big corporate greed

chris

heavy clay will need gypsum to break it up fast. 50g per sqM then run a quarterly dose of Bio balance Media or other high quality humic acid (rate is up to 4kg per hectare per year for heavy clay. well if you use mine, others will be far higher than this. Our humic acid is a complex but the humic part is 89.4% pure.
The other thing is to grow with a mycorrihizal inoculate like Root Better since this will help break the clays and extract the minerals eg Iron compounds of phosphates etc. These secrete many organic acids used to both lower pH and improve soil friability, water and nutrient retention, pathogen protection and so on. Mycos are literally 1 cell thick and so can pass between the clays. As they mineralise the P in the environment, the heat energy breaks further clays, then the fungus secretes a glomalin to rebind aggregates in to better forms more suited for plants, water and air. Sub surface irrigation can help where top down watering drives out O2 levels :-)
