Joe's Grow Show Pt. 1: The Coco Diaries

Sup guys. Looking good bro. Crazy how fast they filled back in huh. You been shooting them with steroids or what lol. Mine are starting to grow really fast too. Man I'm in a funk today. I was falling asleep at work which is the worst. Then I got home and made the mistake of laying on my bed for just a few minutes (I thought) and woke up two and a half hours later. I never take naps. Now I still have to work out and I probably will have a hard time sleeping. Oh well, I'll just have to get extra medicated lol. My boss says just take two shots of whiskey and you'll sleep like a baby but I don't like hard liquor. Might have to try it anyway.

i really want to up pot my plants but cant till flower tent is empty.. gonna get a t5 netx month so i can veg plants and hopefuly get to where im harvesting once a month or something.. that would be ideal.

but yeah just getting ready to go get lost under the night sky and get medicated too.

That sucks brotha I hate having days like that. I swear if I sleep in passed 7:30 am my days go like that. I'm weird that way. Haven't slept passed 6 am in years. Old habits. Lol.
I will second that whiskey advice! I find a shot of Jameson and a nice IPA is the perfect combo after a long day

i really want to up pot my plants but cant till flower tent is empty.. gonna get a t5 netx month so i can veg plants and hopefuly get to where im harvesting once a month or something.. that would be ideal.

Enjoy that brotha! I love an Arizona monsoon. Ya bro you will get it. That's my goal too is to start harvesting every 4-6 weeks. We'll get there bro!

In COCO you feed with every watering. I feed full strength nutes twice a day. And will feed that way 3 times a day coming up soon. I've never done soil indoors but if the roots are completely filling the cup and it the soil is totally inert I would imagine it would be good to feed every watering. You can flush once a week or 2 weeks to be safe. But I'm sure someone has done it successfully. @EventHorizan you got any thoughts on the subject? Lol

In Coco I water twice a day with 10-15% run off. More runoff wouldn't be bad just more wasteful. But I at least want that 10-15. That's me because I don't flush but I never water without runoff. The coco never dries out. It stays moist 100% of the time.

I also feed full strength every single time.

That's Coco though. But I have heard a little about people treating beer cup grows like coco once the roots have filled the cup and the soil is inert. I'm not 100% what they did different though if anything

I could probably pull off the perpetual, but like I said it seems like a lot of work. I might be too lazy for that lol. I'd probably have to get one of those trim bags like growing green.

Sorry been filling the res and doing a few things before i leave for the weekend...
As for soil, im not the guy to ask about feeding, cause im under the impression that ffof and happy frog got what it needs in it and i just feed tea.. But we dont all want to hear AGAIN how paw paw zan feels about soil..
As for the coco,,
easist way is to get a saucer and set your 1/2 gal pot of coco in, and fill up the saucer with half a solo cup of (FEED)
What is feed?
Feed is (at least 25%) of what the bottle says to give, ph'ed to 5.5 to 6.1,
If you got a ppm meter then feed around 1 ec(500 ppm) on .05 scale
If it starts to get light green up the ec by .02 till you get to 2 ec or you see some signs of stress, tips down turned, tip burn, funny looking new growth.. then drop it .02 ec and that will prob be the sweet spot... Your temp/rh/ has a correlation to what Ec is the sweet spot..
Personally i think you can change the sweet spot ever so slightly by fine tuning your temp and rh, better known as vpd.

Ya bro. Those are honestly one of my favorite things in the world to sit and watch. So relaxing when it's warm out and lightning and rain out in your shorts. It's great. I haven't been in about a year I gotta make it back. My uncle lives in Tucson now but he used to live in Apache Junction so I've spent a lot of time in that area. That's where I learned how to ride a dirt bike when I was a wee one. Lol
