How do you guys feel about green light? So many people say it's "completely useless and plants dont use it"

But everything I find in terms of studies suggests otherwise, it's just the least efficient spectrum :/

Well they make lights to go in your room at dark, usually ph/ec/temp meters are in green so they dont effect flower..

So i added yesterday 69 ml of Si first,
then i added 610 ml of csn
Last night that was reading as 450 ppm and 6.3 pH
Its lights out but i have my res monitor outside the tent.
Reading just now was 430 ppm and 6.3 pH
Im so eager to see what they look like after there first night in the system..
Monday we will start c02 at 500 ppm and we will set ppm at 500/1 Ec.
Then I will start intensifying the light, while watching 24 hr drops in Ec.
I will adjust accordingly.

@Toph420 have you found anything in the #2?
Also have you got your coco endeavors going yet?
Let me know when your ready and we'll burn one and I'll bring a gift or 2

They're going into 1/2 gal coco pots real soon but once you're ready I'll bring ya a Chem 91 and a Fire OG in 1/2 gal ready to go.

Sounds good bro!! Haha now I will really be able to find some keepers QUICK... getting the coco setup going on Monday.

I found 3 little ones on the inner growth of the one that started out the smallest.. all the others of the same pheno seemed fine and didn’t find a single one on them.. i would just make sure they are nice and healthy when you flip them. Definitely keep an eye on 1&3 tho. I looked for hours so I’m 99% that I found all of them.

In my personal opinion I would only use your green light if you absolutely have to. Try to do the stuff you need to do during lights on or right after/before..

I understand that's the preconceived notion, but I keep finding studies suggesting green plays a role in photosynthesis and so on. Rather than "it just bounces off plants".

Green penetrates better than most colors as well. This study is just one example

That stuff to nerdy for me..
Prob right in your ball park!
No pun intended! I am a seeker of knowledge to.
You get the answers and let me know what they are when you got them!

We only got so much free time to put towards our craft and there is no way one person could master everything,
there is just too much info to absorb..
Like brain tanning..
You could prob build a pretty good light if i was paying for it :)
But what is the chances you could tan a buffalo hide with brain matter?
Yet Indians had to do that 300 years ago just to survive..

So you do the light research and build me a spectrum king/chilled led light.
1200 watts
600 watts in SK
600 watts in Chilled
all over 4x8
built on 1 frame so that intensity from both lights is same at same distance
preferably 16 inches

Need it done by June 1st 2018

he wants to build a light that uses green light..

So you think we can illuminate 8x8 with (4) 200 watt chilled(1 over each 4x4)
and then what should we put between them?

Well missed out on that 400 spectrum king.. It went for 382.. I went to 355, then let it go..
Said fuck it and grabbed a used Solis tec stk-1000 dimmable for $75..
That means I got 2 1k super horti ballast and lights in the hoods now.
We run that till summer and re-evaluate then..
Really wanted that spectrum king but price has to be right..

ok so im gonna play devils advocate on you.. Cause you know your my homie!
Why does GH demand that I add Si =silica before any other nutes, including Calimag?
Why do they say when doing add backs, don't add back silica because it wont mix back into nutrient solutions?

You know bro been trying to wrap my head on this topic as well. There is 2 schools of thought I guess. I am thinking maybe some recipes from diff mfgrs based on their components require 1st to add the Si but as such, I like you found too much contradiction. So I add mine after all the nutes are mixed then add Si. Then ph adjust before feeding. For the line I use (EJ) seems to work for me.

Where is the chemistry nerds when we need them lol!
But I follow what your saying..
The rest of the guys here that use csn17 seemed to be fine with adding it last. Ive always added it first with no problems.. well i pull a mason jar of ro out the system, then mix each nutrient/additive in thier own jar, then add, so it wont fall out... or at least thats my thinking..

This is just the opposite of smoking off the old seed jar 20 yrs ago when i wanted the shit to drop out :)

And to my defense here is a snippet on Si from max yeild

"Silica is alkaline by nature and therefore will naturally raise the pH level of your nutrient solution. It should be added after the other nutrients have been thoroughly mixed into the water."

It is a good idea to dilute the silica in about one gallon of water before adding it to the reservoir to avoid nutrient lockout that may occur when it comes into direct contact with other elements in the solution.

In many cases, silica may raise the pH level of the solution enough that the additional use of pH up products will not be necessary.

As with anything interweb way too much misinformation. They all must have learned from the Donald......

Well then me mixing it in the mason jar is good practice...
