Very few new pistils with calyxes that are swelled significantly and are pulling red/brown pistils in.

Ive had really good varieties in a super rich organic compost in a big ass pot. All I did was water them with plain tap water every few days or so and the plants gave up some of the frostiest tastiest smelliest stoniest buds I ever grown. That being said...these days I grow in 2 and 3 gallon fabric pots of coco coir using a simple full profile mineral powder fertilizer and a special organic foliar Thats all I use. Basically kelp, humic acid, soy plant' and yucca. Spray em down in veg every week. Gets them nice and short and bushy. Throw them into flower. And wait for the frost giants to appear.

Why the switch!?

First...you need a "frosty" variety. You can either do seed pack runs until you find one or grab a popular cultivar in cutting (clone) form that gives up heavy trichome production in peak flower. I suggest something like White Fire or Gorilla Glue #4. But there are many others. This is key..finding the frosty strain is first and foremost. The foundation. Because if your genetic doesnt have it...nothing you do with equipment or skill will make it happen. After that its just a matter of keeping it happy. I suggest the newer cmh lamp fixtures high in the cool blue spectrum to really bring out the trichomes. And also the canopy temps and humidity. Towards the latter half of flowering you want to slowly cool the room down and drop the humidity. This should do the trick. Notice I didnt give you an expensive hydroponic shop store bought magic in a bottle as well. Because these products may (or may not) "enhance" whats already there. Often along with a taste or aroma you dont want or that is "unnatural" to what the variety is supposed to taste like. Buyer beware with the bottles. Just do what I said above and skip the bottles and you will get your frosty fat juicies. No doubt!!!
So I got a clone from dark hearts nursery, She is cookie glue. I got high hopes for this girl!
Girl scout cookies x GG4
She is vegging as of now with the mommas...
Anybody else ever grew it out?

Typically we pass Cuts around within the fam, but dark heart is one of the places I've gotten some solid cuts from

Ran out of compost (this was years ago) and didnt feel like getting into the whole organic thing indoors. I still do outside..but inside I run pots of Canna Coco (the dry bricks - nice and cheap) with a simple fertilizer on a drip to waste system.

Sounds like you kind of lost the passion of it? Please don't take this as me being rude I'm just chit-chatting with you! Over the years I've grown in lots of styles the only one I haven't grown in, to the best of my knowledge is mainlining and I haven't used CMH lights. I've even done some weird shit! Treg from Botanicare had this Vision to revolutionize growing back in 99 I think it was. We were growing in foam, like mattress toppers kind of foam but thicker! It worked but obviously It didn't revolutionize the growing industry! But I'll be here for life on the organic.

@Pimples although like 4 years ago I tried growing jacks or something like that it was the weirdest thing. I think it was just one part and or something I forget but I didn't use any of my knowledge, I tried to go at it completely blind I had more fucking problems than I could ever imagine

I remember the foam craze that the industry tried to push back then. It was horrible. Stg some shit. And so called pu slabs. Didnt work. Actually they were around (barely) in the mid nineties. But they didnt try the blitz on us until the early 2000's. Ive been around quite awhile myself.

Jacks hydroponic feed with calcinit is good. But I like Hydroponic Research Veg + Bloom. All in one powder. More pricey than Jacks but way cheaper than liquids. Ive used them all. For almost 30 years
There werent many brands back in the old timey days. General..Eco..Dyna..and a couple others. And hardly any rip off additives. The only one we had was Dynagro Protekt back in those days. No tents. No inline fans. Just loud ass squirrel cage blowers. No charcoal filters either. We used "ion fountains"..what a joke. No air cooled hoods either. And no 600 watt bulbs or digital ballasts. Lol. Just 400 and 1000 watt hps or mh lamps. And the smaller ones. No t5's. Just t12 floros. Led's were barely in calculators..much less a grow light. I can tell ya..we still grew kick ass buds.

Hell yeah it was all about closets. I went to electrical supply house and bought a ballast replacement kit it came with a ballast, starter and the igniter and then I bought the Mogul separate and the light separate.
Man my closet was right next to the AC ducting so I cut through the wall and I cut the ducting. The return was down low and it blew up so is the opposite of what you wanted but I was growing.

Yeah that's probably it, Jacks and I was told to use straight tap water. I had pure problems man. At first everything was going great then it took a shit on me. I wish I remembered of the details.
I take that back if I'm going to wish for something it's not going to be remembering growing problems.

Growing problems... That'd make a kickass YouTube series

I am in the same boat with wanting that frost. I have used terpizine also. I agree with all the people on here.100% all genetics. cant tell if the bottled stuff worked or not. I have grown for years now.
I have always done just ok with frost. Nothing eye-popping but ok. my buddy got his hands on white buffalo. And wow wieee!!! and he is just a novice. So it's genetics. I just order some high very frost seeds.

Ha yeah I can tell! But it's herb you grew and that's rad! If you're cool with constructive criticism? I could tell you how it is with sugar free comments! Anything you can help me with, I welcome it! I like blunt honesty

sure and visa versa.love it with the constructive criticism also.It really helps with getting better.
but ya dude... spend some coin on seeds. get from a reputable seed bank and spend some good hard cold cash on them. not the time to be thrifty.
