Grow Log 7/9/18

I can't get a good angle on the garden this year. The positioning is good for growing but not for pics. The smallest plant is 4.5' tall and the rest are 5.5'-7'+.

hahahaha if your plants are too big to get full pictures somethings going right. :D. Nice to see the flowers are doing quite well.

Thank you, lol.

All the pics I take with my phone have made the girls look small and sparse. The leaves do seem thin to me but I think it's because I'm used to the fat leaves on the Royal Nepal. I ended up with a lot of Sativa heavy hybrids this year.

Can probably get more true to life pics with my DSLR. I'll take some test shots and check them on my computer tomorrow. Still need to buy a prime lens and get my Pentax serviced, but even with lint on the sensor and using it's 18-55mm zoom, it should run rings around my phone's camera. I'll take it to the garden tomorrow along with my trimming scissors and clean up those bottoms like I planned. Need to get up there before it gets too hot. I don't handle heat well.

Some of those leaves look like they have so many blades. What's your highest count? 9 or 11?

I think it was 13, there may have been one with 14. They started growing out of the top of the fans on the Orange Creamsicle. Every one of the last three plants left in the tent grew extra fingers after I trimmed out the lower sets of primary fan leaves for better light penetration. Three different strains.

The branches also thickened up like primaries once they were planted in the garden and they have huge bases.

I love seeing those huge fans man

It's the first time I've seen fingers grow out of the top of the fan. The fans that formed that way all started in the grow tent. After they were planted outside the number of fingers decreased to about 9-11 and no longer grew out the top of the leaves.

I'm glad you brought up how much veg time was left on your grow log. It reminded me I need to pull my clones in the next week if I want to avoid re-veg time. Also need to pick up a new fiver to start mixing salts and liquid nutes for the flower cycle and a couple bottles of Sledgehammer. Spread the last dose of bat guano today. Won't need to add anymore nitrogen for the rest of the grow. I've got that free fiver of kelp tea from the hydro store and trio of Fox Farms bloom salts so I'm set for nutes. I can't believe I was spending upwards of $300 per week during the bloom cycle last year. What a waste of money.

Grow Log 7/13/18

Gave the girls a good dose of Spinosad (Capt Jack's Dead Bug) with the Hudson sprayer in preparation for taking clones in a few days and to knock down the pests a bit to give the flowers a clean start. Will reapply over the next week.

All the cuts on my leaves look like caterpillar damage but it's mostly from long tail wasps and meat bees. It was fun watching a meat bee hopping from leaf to leaf and getting mouthfulls of Spinosad and desperately trying to clean it off. Hehe

Interesting about the fan blades decreasing after going outside. I wonder if the LED made them go crazy for growth or something. Can't wait to see things bloom up in here! Ya I think we've all been there at some point spending unnecessary amounts of cash on nutrients we think we need to be successful, but I believe it was all worth it in the end because we were able to gain knowledge on what we need and don't need. Meat bee's are extremely annoying. Glad they are eating some Spinosad :D
