no need for a side by side with TH seeds as far as I'm concerned as i already know for a fact that TH gear is total bunk.he just copies strains and names these days.plus he never shuts up and let good breeders talk on his pod cast.he gets good guests then never gives em a chance to talk.

and i also wanna say that true ibls don't have just one pheno all being the same.there's ibl,s with few phenoes.jyst coz something's been in red over generations does NOT mean all phenoes are the exact same.it all depends on the selections been made by the person doing it.in bred line just means its been crossed to itself over generations and stabalized but there's no way all phenoes will be the exact same.similar yes the same no.

The point of ibl’s imo is to recreate as close to the original mother as possible. That original mother no doubt is a mixture of geno and pheno types and environmental circumstances can bring any one of them out at any time. You see it often when one cut is passed around and expresses slightly different characteristics in each grow. So homogeny is the goal however it is rare ever achieved.

The only thing we can do is try and isolate the good characteristics and hope to weed out the bad in the selection processes. But to see various phenos expressed in progeny is typical and to be expected.

From it if we can find a good keeper then imo the goal has been achieved wether or not it’s true to the mother imo makes no difference.

The goal is to have something good to roll up and pass a round. And if at the end of the day we are all sitting around a campfire smoking great weed then we all win. Wether or not it’s true to it’s mother at this point is moot. But that’s my opinion.

Pefection is IMPOSSIBLE In Cannabis Breeding

But that don't mean I can't breed her and get just one pheno cause I planned on only selecting the best to bring back to the recurrent parent & by doing so shell be more and more stable as time goes by
I'd like to see 3-5 out of her

Only time will tell
But like I said perfection is Impossible
Getting The Closest Representation is very possible tho
As well as potentially improving on the design

But It'll be an interesting Journey that's for sure !

I’ve never heard anyone complain about finding a rare pheno.

I had one years back and held on to her dearly for many years. It was imo the cherry ak47 pheno. I can’t say for 100% sure but am 90% sure that’s what she was.

I had grown out the F1s from serious seeds and neglected to take any clones. It was early on in my growing career. The Seedbank I used ran out of F1s and had some joey weed f2s on cbay (eBay but for cannabis seeds). So I bought a pack and popped em.

All but one was very true to the f1 original but one was very different. It was more sativa like in stature and was a trichome monster. Trics on top of trics. Had a slightly different taste and smell. Not the Sandlewood taste that the others had. It also wasn’t the biggest yielder but had rock hard nugs that kicked you in the teeth when you smoked her. God I miss that strain.

Anyhow it was the only one I kept and it was very different from the others.

So needless to say finding a rare pheno can be very rewarding.

I was there from 2002-2006. Coolest state I’ve lived in by far but snow at Halloween and skiing in 2 ft of powder in mid May(Mt Snow) was nuts!!!
Lived right in town and worked at Havenwood. Good times man, fantastic weed.

I was under the impression mob was basically next to impossible to reverse,the pollen it produces when reversed is almost 100% sterile
Ive heard this from 2 guys who have done lots of breeding with mob
