Thanks man for doing the run of both

I watch what you do to know my future of grow. You have already helped me a lot.

I am running no CMH this run and just cobs and quantums but it is in a 4 x 4 tent. Personal for days but not quite the same :D

I will render judgement after i get these Sour D and crit mass to harvest. The CMH made the frostiest buds I have ever grown.

But i love having a lot of options :D and all of mine is for personal. :D I like having 2 pounds in my safe it makes me feel.......safe

@heisenbubble what was the total yield in your previous 600w CMH vs cob?
Anxious to see the 1K CMH's butt being kicked by the cob !

Im looking to outfit a 12kw room for new lighting. why did you opt to use the reflector you did versus the specifically designed double reflector the nanolux DE CMH uses? It looks like you can get quite a bit closer to the canopy @ 24" versus 36"-40" with a 1kw DE HPS this seems like a worthy upgrade in and of itself over HPS DE lights. not to mention beneficial for 8' ceiling ops. would you say there is less radiant heat underneath versus a 1kw DE hps? i imagine 2x 500w arc tubes vs a single 1000w tube on an HPS plays a significant role in intensity.

Yes the radiant heat is far less than hps.these 1000s are bright!
I put it in that hood because I had it and was aiming for a 4x5 footprint.i didnt want to much light overlap.
If I was doing a whole room I would have just stuck with the stock reflector

Do you think that, because of the less radiant heat, you might be able to get the cmh even closer to the canopy on next run, than you currently have? I was thinking, that might be why the cmh are stretching more than the cobs and wonder if they would stretch less and appear more dense like the cobs if the light were closer (?) Do you have a temp gun that you could check the canopy with, to match the canopy heat of the cobs when setting the height of the cmh?
Fantastic video again Mr @heisenbubble most informative and looking awsome!! :)

I had it lower but it was roasting the tops.it was to close.
I dont mean denser on the cobs like dense buds it just seems alot of the secondary branching isnt as pronounced.the cobs seem more like a jungle and the cmh has more longer colas

I like the idea of using these CMH lights in an 8' ceiling room roughly 15'x30' as they can have the canopy closer to the bulb versus DE HPS 1kw lights.

Would you say then that you disagree with the below comments (comparing Gavita 1kw to DE CMH)?

I liked the 1000w DE Gavita vs 1000w DE Nanolux CMH. Didn't find 1 stretched any more than the other.
I tried a DE 1000w Gavita, at less than 36 inches, and they showed heat stress in 24 hours.

I use Solacure Flower Power F4 UVA/B bulbs all the way through both Veg, and flowering.

2 x 32w bulbs per 4 x 4 area.

Weve got 2 1000w Gavitas, and a 1000w DE Nanolux CMH, and though we weren't really comparing them on a technical basis, we feel the CMH offered no advantages.
UVA/B on a CMH isn't even worth mentioning.
Gavita covers a bit more area.

We use 2 Solacure Flower Power 32w bulbs per 4 x 4, and 1000w.
No way the quartz glass they use on CMH is letting much UVA/B out.
Solacure also goes down to 280nm. No other UVA/B bulb goes don't that far. Is the Lowest wavelength before UVC. Takes relly, really good glass to let it through.
A 32w Flower Power bulb is more than 2x stronger than an Arcadia 54w Dragon bulb, which is the most powerful Reptile bulb made.
Arcadia is 14% and Solacure is 30%, and does it with 22 less watts.
You've gotta wear eye protection if you get around either, as they WILL burn your eyes clean out.
CMH will not burn your eyeballs out in short order.
Solacure also has a built in reflector on the inside of the bulb to reflect all UVA/B possible, and doesn't rely on standard fluro fixture to reflect anything. Its all in the bulb, but works in a standard fixture.

Im trying to get where im harvesting every week or 2. My run that im about to chop down is 6 plants. Im just trying to get a idea of around how much I can expect when i have some more experience
