lol...I just posted that drill trick other day in my thread....best way to do it

Yeah, the clear cups are really soft, so when you try to poke holes they give and crumple. I love being able to see the roots when I slide the clear out of the colored.

Your profile is locked so I don't know the thread. It's why I haven't followed anything you've done.

Just recieved 20 1gal smartpots from China. More like half gallon but they'll work for what I want. A 30 day veg (maybe slightly more) then flip.

Thinking of building an isolation room for fem pollen plants but I'll need another 200w fixture. Instead, I could buy 10-25 micron mesh bags (plant condoms)...

Dude you are such a valued member here. I consider you a brother for sure. I suck at praying these days but I’ll try for you and cousin and fam.
Growing is amazing. Growing gets us through the hard shit and keeps us looking forward to the good times (aka harvest) but the journey and the trials leading to the harvest are what we are truly addicted to.
Take the deepest breath of that Oregon air that you’ve ever taken and have yourself a good day. I’m legitimately excited to see your plants grow this season. I love growing so damn much and can’t imagine growing the monsters you grow under that sexy sun. I’ll be getting dirty outside this summer right with ya bro. Although my tiny stealth autos and trashy fast regulars will pale in comparison to your beautiful behemoth ladies down there. But we both know this is irrelevant because it’s about the love. I don’t care what I even get of my outdoor plants. The fish I catch when going to check on em will make it ‘profitable’ anyways.
Hope your pain f@cks right off for a few minutes today brother. Maybe I can get enough off my outdoor this summer to trade for a plane ticket south. I want to try some of your smoke!

Thanks for the prayers Brother.

If you visit you'll have a place to sleep now... well, er, soon. You get to sleep in the growroom. ...Hey, it's half the sise of the trailer, at 12'x8' (3.6 x 2.4 metres), but mostly unobstructed space. I wanted the floorspace for VR. I got 2/3 of the porch done but this rain is a b*tch. Still figurin on what I want for the roof, under the awning or taller than the trailer, pitched to the side or front down to back. Leaning at 'front to back', then install solar panels. 4 more 'll be here tomorrow, for a total of 800w, and another 100ah battery for a total of 300ah (150ah at 50%). I'm not stopping there. Prolly next week I'll be buying 2x 100w panels and 2x 35ah-50ah batteries for the trailer (already have a little 20a PWM charge controller). I plan another array down the road to run more lights.

Doin alright today in direct sun...

Grow Log 04/09/19 (beanlings for indoor & outdoor grows. So I took a count of the hatchlings now that I feel comfortable most/all will make it.

2x Chocolate Orange Creamsicle, 1x Grape Alien Haze, 6x Uzi Cookies (fem), 3x Blue Magoo, 3x Death by Kush, 3x Jack Herer (fem), 5x Lemon Garlic OG, 2x Kashmir, 1x Chocolate Diesel, 1x Magic Bullet, 1x Grizzly Purple Kush

I started all these because I get a lot more done under pressure. Only had the capacity for 9, now I need to do 20 more (-males, using STS, only need fems), hehe.

Sh*t brother! You got 8x12 grow space happening!? Next winter you should have enough to stay busy for sure lol. Should Toss a 315 cmh in with your fancy cobs as a little heater. They are on par with cobs imo for efficiency besides that the cobs run cooler. But could save you some heater watts in this case. I’m not great with the maths and the graphs but they grow the sh*t out of a 3x3 and can get away with it in a 4x4 space. Hard to beat that for 315 watts. Not quite enough to heat a space with any kind of airflow tho but would help. For the hot summer tho those leds can’t be beat

The caveat, I provide my own power. CMH isn't efficient enough. I'm still trying to successfully power 200w consistently and I'm modifying the 65w into a dimmable 100w. Might buy 1 more 100w for $140 and a second dimmer+PWM controller for $50. It comes out to less than another 200w($300 vs $240). I get two separate lights and more useful if I need them in different locations. If I get a 300w fixture it will be a kit of 6x 50w CXB3590. I just understand CXBs so it's easier for me to stick with them for now, though I might buy some 5000k COB chips for veg.

Because I haven't been able to generate enough consistent wattage to run the 200w on solar, I'm relying on grid power at the moment. The panel I'm hooked to also has a 10kw solar array but PG&E charges ridiculous amounts during the dark hours. I've been cutting back the hours the light is on an hour at a time until I reached 16hrs. That puts me at only 2 dark hrs a day. To make up for the DLI loss I added the 65w single CXB.

I finally figured out what was causing the inflammation and pressire of my sinus that triggered my panic attacks. It had little or nothing to do with mold. I was clear headed last night until I slapped on a nicotine patch. 20min later my sinus was inflamed shut and I was talking myself down from panic attack. There was no congestion so I figured it had to be a pure histamine reaction. No matter how preposterous it seemed, the only thing I had done differently was putting on a patch. So I took it off. About 20min later my sinus opened up rapidly and completely. First right side, a few seconds later the left, and still no more congestion than normal.

What a trip. I'm allergic nicotine patches (this generic brand at least). Who'd'a thunk it?

Yes!!!! Guess who's back! I can't wait to see all of these beauties in their prime.

I'm using the small plastic solos as well and cut the sliver/holes on the bottom rim with a sharp utility knife. The longer slivers help ease the long dangling roots out too when I transplant. Works like a charm.

You know, I've been so busy I forgot to post up a schematic of the solar generator again. I'm actually glad I haven't yet because now I can do the 400w vs 800w. If you didn't know any better you'd think they would be pretty much the same but with different numbers of panels and batteries, but the panels are connected differently due to the amperage limitation of 10 gauge wire. Due to the way they're shaded the layout of the interconnected panels is important as well.

800w of monocrystalline panels (upper 400w panels not connected yet).

I have been so busy the last two spring, and this one 10x as much. I'm not complaining, it's great. This year, way more than the last 2, has everything is falling right into place.

Grow Log 04/11/19 (beanlings)

My lights (200w-265w) have been running om my solar genny since I hooked up the new panels this morning. Instead of having 4x 100w panels in parallel, it has 4x 200w (x2 100w in series) in parallel. I needed the extra voltage to kick up their output in the shade and under cloud cover. It almost tripled their output. When the sun rose yesterday morning the output was 16w and now they're putting out 54w. The panels sustain my lights at around 135w now. I have another 100ah battery due any day. It will be a moderate stop gap on cloudy days but my grow lights won't be completely free of grid power on these days until I have 600ah-800ah total.

This morning right after sunrise...

Hey, anyone who knows wanna weigh in here... What's the minimum photoperiod to stay in veg. Cannabis Encyclopedia says they'll veg as long as they've got 16hrs of light but I know that's bullsh*t cause I've moved em to the garden at 14 3/4 hrs with no issue. I want to put em outside around the 18th of this month for 13 1/2 hrs but was wondering if I should wait till the 29th-30th for 14hrs.

A hour more veg if you wait until the 29th/30th.

Thanks for answering.

I'm not putting them in today. Too young and it's still a bit cold at 40F at night. The difference I'm looking at is only 1/2hr between the 18th and 29th.

I'm looking at my available space and my six fastest (probably more) will need to be up-potted in 6 days. I'd move them just once, rather than twice in fairly rapid succession.
20190412 142806

My concern is whether they'll end up doing a bloom-reveg and stall out for a month, when waiting 2 weeks will make that scenario avoidable. I don't know if I'll have my growroom + new fixtures ready in a week but it is possible if if I flip my last lb today. In a couple hours I'll know if I'll have the money to extend their indoor time.

Fingers crossed.

Weed-whacked the garden today...

...honestly, I am working on that solar schematic. Every time I get going on it I don't like how its going and put it back down. Right now I'm waiting to hear back from the manufacturer regarding how much actual current those 100ah batteries put out so I can figure out how many I can connect in parallel to my 60A MPPT charge controller. I think the problem is they have a variable current up to 30A so it really depends on what you're using them for. I could just keep stacking em till I pop the 60A ANL fuse on the charge controller side or the 150A ANL fuse on the inverter side. As long as these fuses are in place there's no danger but I also don't want to waste $175 on an extraneous battery.

The people I thought burned me ended up having a good reason for everything seeming to go sideways. They've turned out to be really cool people and we're becoming good friends. We'll see if that mountain grow is back on. I've been too busy with my own projects to have time to help them put up the hoop house and I dont want to just jump in there after they're done offerin to drop plants off.
