I have and do consider it often. i agree 4x 600's would be better, this layout was an experiment to use the most of what I could afford when I set it up. It's really just not happening because I cant afford the upgrade at the moment more than anything. I'll get there at some point. Between replacing the dehu, adding an AC, installing UV and irrigation etc, my shed upgrade fund has been depleted. But even as is I can pull about 4 pounds every 3 months. Sometimes less, I was getting about 3 when I first ran it. This last one could have been 4.5 without the fuckups..

But yeah, I think about it. I'm actually thinking of adding some of those 100w LED's Big Cube has going in his mini grow box. Sure looks like they work, could be just the ticket running 8 down each side.

Wish you guys were close I could get you all these lighting equipment for free, the other day my boy called saying he is upgrading his warehouse from ballast to lux de lights. He had like 100 ballasts and lights. Asked if I wanted them for free or he was just gonna throw them away cause he can’t sell them here. These ballast are interchangeable to you can set from 600-1000. Felt bad for him but I had no use for them. I can see if he still has them available and if you guys pay for ground shipping wouldn’t mind sending them out.

what’s happening is that many growers are getting funding as they are converting to licensed grows and that funding covers all brand new equipment. So they don’t know what to do with their digital ballast lighting systems. If anyone is interested just pm me and I can prob hook up a few of you guys with lights. I’ll call him to see what’s he done with them

Spoke to the guy he got rid of them already but I’m sure if I dig in my garage I’ll find some lighting equipment from last year I stored. Should have 10+ Digital ballast Equipment that have no use to me. I’ll send them to who needs them. Rather see them
Put to use than sit in a box in my garage

Things are chugging along. Can you tell the one that sat in ph 9? lol... I dont think shes gonna pull out of it. Just in case it doesnt I'm going to plant a reserve clone tomorrow in a 1 gal of coco to take its place.

My extra clones are growing great in the little cubes with a daily dip in nutrient, honestly doing nearly as well as the ones in Hugo's lol.. I think I'll put the strongest one in the coco.

And yeah hahaha, as soon as I put the green caps on I felt like a real hydro newbie..

How long is the shock period for stuff like topping plants in wool? anyone know? Now that they're out of transplant-stasis the growth rate seems to have gone crazy. If i do top I'll need to do it tomorrow. Itll be 12 days since transplant and will leave it 2 weeks to keep vegging. I'm curious to see how much they will grow in that time.

They look so healthy. I would thing topping will be what you expect or faster.

So you will go 4 weeks after rooting and flip?

Is that what you did in the peat lite mix and soft pots?

It is, the difference is last time I had very big healthy cuttings to start with that had already been in pre-veg for a week or so in small 2x2" pots. The cuttings this round were nowhere near as nice and healthy and were much smaller at transplant, so it's not really an even comparison. But I can tell since these have started growing that they're growing way faster, it's so noticeable it's really neat to see. And the growth is far more dense and bushy as well. I think if I time the cuttings better next time and get them as lush as my spares are now before putting them in the Hugo's, I'll have much better progress out of the gate. This round I needed to speed the cycle along some and plant them as soon as I thought I could get away with it. Ideally if I wasnt going on vacation I would have waited another week before transplanting.

If you still have them I need to make a call later, but I think I know where they can be used in Victorville.......

Lol the green lids are supposed to distribute the irrigation water more evenly and prevent algae growth. I have to say they seem a little gimmicky, but I'll keep them on and see what happens.

And yeah I dont like rushing a cycle at all... But sometimes I dont have a choice.

The green lids work pretty good at distributing the water, big thing is like you said algae growth. I just used some panda film on top., still allowed air circulation. But then i was using a flood table, not drip. Looking very promising.

Found this vid on youtube, it lines up well with what I'm seeing as far as increased growth rate. A stall at the beginning then a growth explosion. I'm still in the early stages but the difference is clear.

I plan to get the irrigation manifold installed today and give these girls their second watering since transplant. They're up to eating every 2-3 days now, but I think it will be daily by early this coming week.

Yeah I can say my soil grow is so easy to look after but the growth rates are just not even close.
