I'm gonna say you want a min of 30w/sq ft. So your gonna need about 3 of those minimum. That's 300 actual watts and less efficient thank something like hlg or kingbright fixtures. What's your budget?

If you are looking to go cheap go with HID. The running cost is higher but the setup coat is much cheaper. 2 of those 1000 de will be great.... But your going to need to beef up the exhaust system.

Gotta get ready and HAPPY Thanksgiving! Going to put to two DOG LEDs in with the two t5s and wing it lol. I SHOULD be able to purchase another t5 fixture B4 the end of the grow, as well I am guessing. signing off with a Sour D Dab for ya! peace. (edit... I also PLAN on overkill with the ventilation for sure... also didn't understand what you were trying to say about humidity, but of course, I will always monitor and keep in range to my best ability)

With high air exchange you can't control the humidity of the tent and must instead control the humidity of the room the tent is in.

I was not aware you could have not enough humidity in all honesty. Is that where you're saying the plants will be too dry? Not to say would be very hard to control the humidity of the room just curious.

Look at hlg web site but the hlg 550 or 600v2
OK, this is really starting to turn into a lighting circus! You got me SO impressed with the Q Boards, instead of ordering another of the T5 units I just ordered, I want you guys honest opinion on the light config in the 4x8 tent. The Main/Center Light the 8 lamp T5, on both ends, the two DOG Leds, and (Because the large one is out of the Q and I WILL use this light for a LONG time, and Im so liking these LEDs)... Should I stick with One more T5 OR get this and see.

That's 300 actual watts and less efficient

Also, the 46" HO T5 bulbs are rated 54W apiece. That's 432 W / fixture. Not as efficient as LED, but two 4 bulb units I had really gave some nice POTENT buds, the Dark Purple Ice Hash was Full-melt and would like to knock you out... Just fyi, not tryin' to be a smart ass. I think Heat and humidity will be manageable especially with the info you have provided. I hope the outside cold air intake idea works with a thermostat controlled back draft flapped fan with hepa... 2" - 3" inch duct..?

I must had a different link? I would even compare Floro to led in terms of watts.. sorry for the confusion.

I would like to bump these two questions. I am eager for input on both...

Does a HEMPY bucket make a noticeable difference in the VIGOR of growth normally associated with DWC?

EDITED quote (for clarity)

I want you guys honest opinion on the light config in the 4x8 tent. The Main/Center Light the 8 lamp T5, on both ends, the two DOG Leds, and (Because the large one is out of the Q and I WILL use (HLG100 v2) for a LONG time, and Im so liking these LEDs)... Should I stick with One more T5 OR get this (2'x2' footprint quantum HLG100 v.2) and see if I can make a go of those? that's a difference nominal of about 330 W or more compared to similarly priced T5 (@432W)...

Never done hempy and never mixed floe lighting with led. I can only say you want a minimum of 30w sq ft. With led. If your under that adding any more lighting will help.

OK. I have to go with my higher Wattage option and grab the other t5 unit. For the simple reason they are the most reliable way to ensure I have enough light and spectrum for the tent... the Two fixtures fall only 96 Watts short of the 30W/sq.ft. goal... I think I can count on the LED's for THAT much help for around 80 bucks spent..? Guess I'll find out... I will also be running four cfl's from Reptisun with 13 W ea. of UVA/B. (For the last two weeks prior to the final week) SO, the LED's are posted; Here are the rest of the products chosen thus far...

1 on the way, another to follow:

The DWC system is substantially cheaper per pre-fabbed bucket going with this 6-bucket system which is only $20 more than the two individual ones I had chosen (with most other options similarly priced per bucket, besides this one). We will see about it's pump. I already have a Hydro top - drip system new in box I will use, as well...

They came early. Where do I get the proper Buffer solution for Calibrating the PH meter? They didn't include it... Rather NOT use the Analog one...

For about another 150 you can turn that into an RDWC system to make your life a lot easier. But maybe you wanna try it first. Some people end up not liking it.

@Aqua Man OK I think will be using a 40 gallon res I will hook up, and use the top - feed drip system I have and turn the 6 bucket system into a turn-key RDWC... But only two to start...
