Well 1 of my blurples after 2 months is taking a crap. Diodes burned out in a corner. Waiting for reply from company but in the meantime I’m getting 550 V2 R-Spec. Going to add with the other 4 including the defective 1.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully they will exchange it for you under warranty. You're gonna love the hlg 550, but I am curious why you are choosing it over the less expensive 600, is it just the assembly? If so its easier to put together than Ikea furniture and it comes with everything you need except a wire stripper.

Actually my short memory has failed me again. I guess I forgot. Yeah I can put stuff together plus more watts right? I haven’t ordered the light yet so I will order the 600. Thanks!

No problem, the 600 is $90 less and 140 more watts than the 550 which makes it a pretty good value.

Nice grow @Grundo, very impressive with the RDWC. Those lights are nice, but these namebrand LED's just seem way to costly still. I built my own a few years ago, half your wattage for less than $250 (got my stuff from cobkits.com). That technology is cheaper now of course. $1600-1800 for one of those XL 1000 wifi's is a bit too high for this PPFD (700-1200 is ideal). However, you could probably supplement these with additional LED's to raise your PPFD and realize that tents potential with a well run RDWC

@visajoe1...a little confused, your saying my ppfd was a little high but I need to supplement more light to get the ppfd higher!

i said the cost is a little high for that PPFD number

a little update..just started week 5.

Plants look great, like mentioned you will benefit from quality LED's. Pulling 4 oz a plant will be interesting. Let us know how you do with the grow.
I think I spied at least one new led in the last update. Agreed that the plants are looking healthy and it looks like the genetics are strong too.
a little update..just started week 5.
If you have hung some additional lighting and continue to stay dialed in then I think 4oz per plant is looking more and more possible. My only critique on the progress is that it looks like there is a little bit of extra stretch happening, I've found I can reduce this in my plants by limiting the temperature drop after the lights turn off. I usually set my space heater to whatever the average leaf temp is during the day, that way it never drops more than a couple degrees below the lights on ambient temps. The stretch isn't what I would consider that bad but its the only place I see room for improvement. You should be proud your first grow is going so well, some people struggle just to understand the basics but you are clearly picking this up pretty quickly.

@FourthCity...I appreciate that!! I wondered what was causing a late inning stretch. Makes sense, and thanks for the tip. I’m gonna be a little light on final weight as I had to yank 3 Durban Poisons due to nanners. 2 of the 3 were my smallest so maybe they got stressed a little but the 3rd one was doing pretty good. I had read that DP especially feminized were prone to hermie. I know a few people that grow it with very good success, me not so much. I do have 21 very nice, stinky, sticky ladies. A few more weeks and I should be good. Next grow is about to begin with an all Ethos Genetics line up.

With the number of seeds you sprouted some of them were bound to have some nanners, it doesn't look like it was anything you did though. Were there a lot? If its just a few you can mist them with a little water which sterilizes the pollen and then pick off the sacks. I rarely toss a plant unless its full blown hermed but those plants do tend to get a handful of seeds. Pull them or not, no wrong answer, some people think a few nanners will ruin a whole plant but when they are managed properly that has not been my experience. In your case with so many plants they will probably fill in the recently vacated space and make up for any loss from the three you removed. Do you have another tent or room for the next grow or are you just lining things up for after you harvest the current crop?

I just pulled the plants..I didn’t want to infect everything else. The other ladies are loving the extra room. I don’t have another tent but I do have a humidity dome that I’m going get them going in. I just have to time everything out. Eventually this will turn into a perpetual grow.

Have you thought about where you are going to dry your harvest? If you use the tent for drying I would germinate the next batch whenever you chop these plants down, if you do that the seedlings will probably be ready to go into the buckets right around the same time that the hanging buds are dry enough to be placed in jars.

If their all ready in time that’s the plan. If not I’m prepping another room for drying. It’s gonna be a juggling act for sure!

Any idea if the frosty white top is something to be concerned about?

It’s been like that since the start of flower. Is it another hermie? I think it’s accelerated bud development...but I’m certainly no expert.
