I just switched to 6/2 for some photos in veg and im seeing good results. Seems like less end of day droop compared to 18/6. I was thinking this might be good for autos..🤔

Photos and Autos are 2 totally different beasts my man.

Photos need that light schedule change to flower so you go from 18/6 to 12/12 with them. Autos will bloom with lights on for 24 hours or 18/6 or 12/12. When they are ready they just go. That's the difference.

I suggested it because the theory is it may help relieve light stress from high ppfd levels. Have you heard of DLI?

No I haven't. I just read something about this today. Basically giving your photos a nap and then boom wake them back up.

Hey fellas, just wondering first time auto grow.

Delicous seeds northren auto blue

Barneys Auto tangerine dream

Both fem'd...do these sound like popular varietals?

Its just sprout, grow, auto flower! Bam!!

Any specific lights they grow the best under i.e. hps/mh?

DISCLAIMER: I'm nearing the end of my first grow. But I use a cheap Chinese 1,000-watt
LED light...$55 bucks. It has worked just fine, for my 3 plants in a 2x2x4 ft. tent. In fact, they're
very crowded and grew about 2 ft. taller than they should have. Thank God they're now
well into the flowering stage. There is NO room left.

I have ordered a slightly larger tent for my next Grow. I have a very limited space, but it'll
give me a badly-needed extra 18 inches of headroom. I used an 18/6 cycle, and though I
didn't need to, I flipped it to 12/12 after 6 weeks. I suspected they might not be Auto seeds
at all. No pests, no disease....Beginner's Luck.

Again: I used a 1,000 watt output LED light. In a tent as small as this, it's probably more than
I really needed.

Ive ran a handful of good crops with Autos and will continue to use them. That being said I have ran them at 18/6, 20/4 and 24. Even the Divided 6/2 method. Then best runs I harvested were 18/6 and changed to 22/2 during their flower stage. I have always done LST on them, grown in air/fabric pots.( Upgrading to DWC soon). I see to many people with long leggy Autos, with a little training they can be a monster. My best harvest from one Auto plant is 134g Dry if I remember (Cant find my notes)

Just watch out for when they make the flip to Flower. Go easy on any Veg nutes around that time, some strains are picky, many have issues with a little burn or stunting. Usually just a flush and they are back on their way. But any time down with Autos affect Yield/Quality. But they are fun!!! Experiment and Enjoy!!!

I'm in a 2x2.5x5'7". Good to know you crammed 3 plants in a small tent. I can probably get away with the same then. Have any pics love to see your setup.

Do you suggest just cutting the nute doses in half?

I do very similar my first grow and had good results so wont be changing anything in my next run

What are you guys using for nutes by chance? Trying to educate myself in that department. I have the fox farm trio, cal mag, and kelp me kelp you and holy mackerel from fox farm as well. Any info on nutes would be much appreciated.

I dont think they are getting the intensity of a LED or full direct sunlight for 24 hours in nature though.

I found several articles that said for best yields give them a small amount of rest. Like 20/4 or 18/6.
That was my understanding also. To each there own.

Every made home-made CO2 and stuck it in your room/tent?

half cup sugar, litre of warm water, shake, half tablespoon yeast, litre of warm water, shake well in a large bottle and allow extra space to be at the top of the bottle, leave without the cap in your room/tent.

I just purchased exhale co2 bag. When my plants are a little more established I plan on using that for co2

IMO there is no right light cycle. The day/night should be based on the intensity of the light given. There are benefits to a dark (calvin) cycle as there are different processes at play during photosynthesis and Calvin cycle.

Its a very complex topic and many variables some of which even affect the microbiology of the soil basically if you have low light 24/0 will prob suit you best. Very high light maybe 16/8 or somewhere between.

The use of co2 will aid in allowing more efficient photosynthetic rates and thus you can run a higher DLI before reaching light saturation point or reduced photosynthetic rates cause by photorespiration.

This all has to do with photosynthetic rates, DLI and light saturation points.
