I've been looking for a cafe racer to fix up... or maybe get a little KTM adventure bike.
I know how much trouble I'd get into if I did any kind of sport bike... that's off the table pretty much just for my wife's sake.

I just got rid of my eternal project (xs 750 - bored out to get 830+) in favour of buying a new bike or stealing my dads Ducati scrambler next summer.

I have too many damn hobbies!

More my speed these days... Though I can't say I'd turn down a ride if offered. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Crashing hurts.
Iโ€™ll fill in the rest then.

Budgoodman was seen reaching speeds of 100mph when he was blindsided by a thrown shoe that seemed to appear out of nowhere leading to a devastating crash.
police are still looking for the one-shoed culprit.

all joking aside though glad youโ€™re feeling better than your wallet

Sorry to see that bud. I've put a few down low-side on the track but that's about it. I do miss my bad bitches though...been a while since I had a bike. My last ZX10 streetfighter was nearly 200hp at the wheel and all Mad-Maxed the fuck out.

I got rid of her after I had my youngest daughter. Got out on the highway in an open express lane one day and cracked the throttle till I saw ~150ish on the speedo and all of a sudden all I could think was "who's going to raise your daughters if you hit a traffic cone right now?". Sold it that week.

I'll probably have another track bike one day but I think the next two wheeler on the menu is a customized Road Glide Special I can throw the wife on and ride through the Redwoods :)

Semi-related story; in college I did a lot of very wild irresponsible riding in South Florida (all straight with no hills, running from the cops on the turnpike was about straight line speed) with a lot of people as stupid as myself at the time. A friend went down riding a balance point wheelie into the back of a Honda that changed lanes without looking or signaling and rolled inwards towards the Jersey barrier.

I grabbed everything to stop and help him and when I dropped my kickstand I noticed his boot had rolled up against the barrier. Pretty sure I was already in shock at the time because when I picked it up I saw that his foot was still in it and I stared at the boot not knowing what to do. So I walked up and handed it to him and picked him up and carried him out of the road asking if he was ok.

He survived and did some time (outstanding warrants) and wears a prosthesis to this day.

Sorry about the vibe-shifting those things are just so very stuck together in my head that when I saw the bikes and the shoe joke....

Man that must have been traumatic.

With all of this said though it would be cool to ride with some of the farmers one day.

One of the crazier riding stories I have. I've done a lot of living and a lot of healing since those days so I don't carry it as trauma but it is a cogent reminder of our own vulnerability.

And that would be a sick ride!

Hey bro? Yeah about your bike... right... its got a couple new scratches...
Hippie came into the garage and found Bud's Bike looking much the worse for wear.

"Hey bro?" Hippie called. "Yeah.....about your bike... looks like it has a few new scratches."

The bike scoffed, its exhale...was it a fart?....it came from the tail pipe.....stirring up some dust on the ground.

"You should see the other guy," Bud's Bike said. Its voice came out as a growly whine not from the tail pipe but, Hippie realized, from its very soul.

"Wow," Hippie said. "That's some good pot!"

That's what I been thinking about.
Might go the complete other way and get an RE Continental... cheap, like the style better, and they're bullet-proof. Probably less to injure myself on as well.
Or an old Honda CB750 and y'know... clean out the carb and have it run forever again... that's probably most my speed and there are quite a few of them going around my area. Bob it out. I'm a sucker for all that retro shit... I know a lot of the dudes doing it are kinda ๐Ÿคจ... but, damn if I don't like that style.

2005... Raw Titanium... aka Widow Maker 2.0.
That's what that green bike started as.
First, and only, crash on the street was that bike... Literally, the day I bought it and brought it home.
It became my first track, and eventually race bike. That pic is my second track day... The session after my first time crashing it on the track.๐Ÿ˜‚
Have been focusing my competitive energy at cattle sorting, penning, and cutting the last few years... Mrs. Goodman is more into it... And racing really began to feel like a selfish activity. Puts a lot of stress on those that love you.

Glad your friend ended up okay... For the most part.
I have GoPro videos of 200mph on mountain roads... Some down in those Redwoods you speak of.๐Ÿคช

First bike?
If I may... These things can be picked up for a song.
